OK. I SERIOUSLY thinned out my punch collection last year, but it is out of control again. How do you store your punches? They are taking up TOO MANY DRAWERS in my Iris Cart!
I have a plastic shoe storage thing I got at Lowe's. It is to hold 24 shoes, but I have several punches in every pocket and can still put more. It has been a blessing as far as storing the punches, because I was being overrun with them too and having them in the drawer I tended not to use them that much because I couldn't see them ~ now I see them (the plastic is clear) and I use them quite often. Hope that helps. Pam
Thanks, Pam - I wondered if anyone had tried the shoe thingy.... I may give that a go. I have to be over by Ikea on Wednesday for work, so I figured I'd use this as an excuse to shop there and see if I can find anything too.... LOL!

I just ordered a punch holder from crafter's toy box and I love it. It comes in two sizes and costs $14.95 right now on sale. It will hang on a door or it can be attached to a wall with screws. Here's the link:http://www.crafterstoybox.com/
I have 3 Crop In Style Punch Pal organizers hanging over the back of my door. If you have a Tuesday Morning close by, they have them discounted for $9.95. They come in two sizes...S/M or M/L. I think they are the best!
I spent last Sunday going up and down the aisles of IKEA and didn't find anything better then my 3-drawer storage unit from Big Lots. I even measured all of our punches so I'd know if they'd fit if I did find anything!! BUT I did get some interlocking drawer storage thingees from Target that fit sideways in the storage unit drawer. I can fit three large punches in each organizer thingee. Here's a link to what I'm talking about Target. I got the one that's on the lower right. Then I printed out lables to go on the outside of the drawer. No more sliding open each drawer to find what I want. HTH!!

I could swear I saw it in the gallery here (because I'm very rarely looking at stamping things elsewhere LOL). Someone had a magnetic knife strip on the wall - you know the ones that you 'hang' the knives from by the blades? They had their punches "hung" magnetically on it - this way it looks nice, takes no drawer/shelf space, & you can see which punch is which easily.

This is what I have and where I got them also. LOVE THEM!! I needed a separate holder for each punch so I could see them easier.

The magnetic strip sounds like a brilliant idea! Only I would need a much bigger stamp room considering the number of punches I own - LOL
I just went in search of the storage at Crafter's Toy Box and I couldn't find anything - is there a specific word I could use in their search mechanism?? TIA!

I also have 4 of the Crop-n-Style punch pal organizers full of punches and have to agree that thay are a great way to store punches since you can see at a glance what you have. I use my punches much more now than when they were stored in a drawer. The only problem is that you can't fit the new ginormous giga scalloped punches in the pockets!
I am a major punch-aholic and finally "solved" my storage solution last week! I was visiting a friend and she mentioned she needed to think about getting rid of some of the furniture in her sewing room to make room for a newly acquired piece of antique furniture. One of the pieces she wanted to get rid of was a tall, narrow dresser that had 8 shallow drawers - I guess you would all it a lingerie cabinet (54" tall, 22" wide and about 18" deep). It is all wood construction (I found out afterward that she had it custom made when she lived in PA), so the drawers are sturdy enough to hold those heavy punches.
I was able to transfer ALL my punches to this cabinet, which freed up lots of shelf space (I had been storing the majority of my punches in shallow wooden boxes on shelves - the boxes were sturdy enough to hold the punches but allowed me to keep them in single layers so that I could see exactly what I had without pawing through them.) Having the punches in designated drawers that don't go woopy like the plastic drawers do is a delightful luxury. I have discovered punches that I didn't even remember owning and have got back in the habit of USING them, because they are easy to access.
If you have the space in your room, it might be worth checking out some of the discount places like Target, Fred Meyer or a discount furniture place for a lingerie cabinet for punch storage (maybe even a second hand store)-- you will be amazed how superior wood drawers are to plastic for punch storage!
I currently have 2 dresser drawers FULL, and I'm working on the 3rd. The dresser is approx 36" x 15". The drawers are heavy, and I too am looking for a better solution. It is taking its toll on the dresser. I wish they made a dresser with drawers about 2.5" deep. That would be ideal. The only ones I have seen have an notch at the top of the drawer that lets in dust.

Thanks...........I just ordered one........I have been looking for a punch holder that didn't necessarily have to hang on a door frame since I don't have a door like that in my den. This is perfect!!!!!
Thanks for the links ladies! My dilemna is wall space - I have none left :( I think perhaps I just have TOO much stuff - LOL. But then why do I keep acquiring more? All I have now is shelf space. I don't really like the look of plastic, but my little wood drawers from IKEA always seem to give me grief and I'm tired of stacking and restacking loose boxes. I need drawers, but oh to find the right resource!
