Default Question on spellbinders/dies

I've been looking for the spellbinder machine & all the stores around me are out or don't sell it. My question is this. I have a cuttle bug, will the spellbinder plates fit in through the cuttle bug machine? Can I just buy the spacer plates & dies to use with my cuttle bug? Thanks & have a great day and a Happy New Year.

Thanks for your help with this. Now I don't have to buy another machine!

I have read many different threads that talk about different sandwiches for the cuttlebug and nesties on tool and product talk. You may want to search around there for awhile to see what you can find.

You use the cuttlebug plates with the nesties. You don't need any new plates. You just need to figure out the combination that works with 'your' cuttlebug.

With the spellbinder dies you will need one more shim to add to the sandwich. I use one or two pieces of thin chipboard.

Here's a video I did on how to use nestabilities in your cuttlebug.

To cut, I don't use any shims. However, I do to emboss.

The Cuttlebugs seem to vary in the amount of pressure they create when you roll your "sandwich" through. The machine that I have seems to work fine for cutting and embossing using just the recommended plates, and I don't have to use any cardstock shims.

I would suggest you try without the shims first, just using the plates, and then add shims if needed.

CB stack for nesties is a snap...You will need to get a piece of the Spellbinders tan embossing mat, JoAnn's carries it...

A plate
C plate
spellbinder die, flat side down on the C plate, cutting edge up
paper
B plate

Roll it through

to emboss, keep the paper and die intact, place on

A plate
3 sheets of cardstock (GP from Wal-Mart works fine)
B Plate
spellbinder and paper, flat side down, cutting side with paper intact
tan spellbinder embossing pad
B plate

Roll it through again and now it is cut & embossed...

Hope this helps you...
