Quickutz/Sizzix

I was told I could use a quickutz die in my big Sizzix die cut if I used the convertor. I did, and it does cut...problem is, the die cut stay on the quickutz and I have to virtually dig it out to get it...and usually tear some part of the paper in the process. Any suggestions?

Did you prep the quikut with the ejection foam they provide? You lay a piece of the white ejection foam over the die and place the die in your machine running it through once. The die cuts through the ejection foam. Leave the foam on from this point on, lay your cardstock over the die and now the paper will not get stuck.

HTH!!!

Thumbs up Thanks for the help!

Dopey me....I had put the foam on the wrong side. Took it off and put it on "correctly" and it works perfect!! I'm cutting it on my big Sizzix cutter; I tried it on my Sidekick, but will have to sandwich something else in there so that it will cut it (the Quickutz are not as 'thick' as ths Sizzlets). Glad to know I can know use Quickutz with my Sizzix machine!

Default Convertor

I've had mine for quite a while, and can't remember where I got it. I do know that the AC Moore store in our area carries them. But be careful if you do get one and put it in your cutter.....when you place a Quickutz on the plate, place only 1 of the clear shims on top of it. Even then, you not need to press the handle all the way down.
If you can't find a convertor in your area, I'll be glad to get you one and ship it; in fact, I'm going by there tomorrow.

Sometimes if you're using a QuicKutz die that has been used a lot, that ejection foam can get pretty compresssed and the card stock can sometimes still remain inside the die. I have found the best way to pull the card stock out with as little damage as possible is to put a little repositional adhesive on a scrap piece of card stock and press it into the die, then pull apart. More times than not, this will 'grab' the lodged diecut and pull it out of the die keeping it in tact. And since the adhesive is repositionable, it just rubs off. I've had this same thing happen to my QuicKutz AND my Sizzlit dies and it usually works. HTH
