Default Is it really that hard to find unmounted/clear stamp storage?

Dream storage.

1. Clear Box
2. Large enough for even the biggest stamp sets
3. Able to put clear stamps on each side and it still closes
4. Able to put foam mounted cling stamps on both sides and it still closes

I got some stamp by step ones, and the foam mounted stamps I have don't fit. If I put them on both sides of the box, it won't close.

Come on, if you have a dream system that you can use with all your sets let me know!

Erin

Hi Erin! Have you seen GinaK's new storage system? It is fabulous and comes in a binder that you can custom design to match your craft space. BRB - let me find the link...

I use cds with tack it over and over on my stamps for my small to medium stamps. I use dvd cases to store med to large stamps and I store some large stamps inside my cabinets stuck right on the inside of the cabinets..

I know what you're saying, but out of my 70 SU sets, only about 6 of them needed two CDs, in that case, I just labeled it "Feathered Friends (1 of 2)" and "Feathered Friends (2 of 2).

The blank CD cases with no inserts were so cheap at www.rima.com, that I settled on this system. Now it looks like they're not selling them without the inserts!

I agree...I only have about 3 sets that need two cases. I really like the CD cases for many reasons...the biggest is that you can find CD storage anywhere for cheap. I like that they don't take up much room when I lay them out on my table...and I like that they are easy to find at Target when I need more. Plus they are less than 50 cents a piece...I hate to think that each stamp set I get is going to cost me $3-4 more just to store it! LOL

I just use CD cases with the inserts removed. I can fit acrylic stamps or see-d's on both sides. I can fit cling foam-mounted stamps on one side. If a set doesn't fit, or if I have more than one CDs worth of a category, I just label the CD with a number, so I have 7 CDs of music stamps! (I'm a music teacher and music therapist, so kind of have a fetish. lol) So they're labeled Music 1, Music 2, Music 3, etc. (I should clarify, for most things, I only have 1 CD, and occasionally 2 CDs--that's just my extreme example. lol)

Then I store the CDs on a CD tower, with all the categories/sets sorted by alphabetical order. Then my fonts are stored separately, and they're also alphabetized, like Autumn Leaves Scribbles 1, AL Scribbles 2, etc. Works really great for me. I can pick what I want and take it to a crop or just to my table! :-)

I was coming in to suggest checking out GinaK's new storage as well. I'm definitely thinking about buying some.

Erin - they aren't available to order until tonight, I believe.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the GinaK DVD tins and the binder box? I need to know the dimensions before I purchase something. I am surprised she doesn't have that listed on the site.

I had the perfect storage, and I LOVE it. I have four bins filled like this; however, when Inque Boutique was bought out, they no longer sell these. I am CRUSHED, and need to find something as I continue to get more stamps.

So, I would love to know the dimensions of the GinaK stuff if anyone knows it! Thanks!

Hi,
Good suggestion to put that info up on the site. I will get to that asap.
Our DVD tins are 5 1/2" X 7 1/5" and here is a FAQ I posted about our storage system. I hope this answers a few questions.
Binder Box Storage System FAQs

Here is a photo of what they look like with one stamp set but they hold four sets. They are also discounted when you puchase 6.

Thanks for the measurements Gina, and I didn't realize they held 4 sets. Thanks again.

Edited to ask what dimensions of the plastic storage box is. Can you share that too please?

I use the ones from Sunday international for my EZ cling 'rubber stamps' but still use the CD cases for my clear stamps. They are great but is there easy way to see which stamps are inside the Gina K or Sunday International systems without opening them up??

On the Gina K system are you only supposed to place stamps on one side of the binder sheet??

Here are Clear DvD Cases
Super Jewel Box King
Dimensions: In inches : 7.5"x 5.6"x 0.4"

You have to pop the liner out but that would be another option.

You can used both sides of the binder sheets. The Binder Box will hold four stamp sets. If you put two stamp sets on one binder sheet, you will only need two sheets to fill the box. HTH

Thanks for posting this Alicia. So you can pop out the part that is meant to hold the DVD disc? This looks great. Thanks!

I now use a 3-ring Notebook (zippered) to store my unmounted Rubber stamps in.

I use those White Plastic storage boards. I use to use CD cases. but began to run out of room to store them. I have a good stamp space...But it's not that big.

Take a look at my Gallery or look at the photo's below.

I use white storage panels like in jeanstamping2's pictures. They fit into a standard 3-ring binder. They can also be put into page protectors and then put into a binder, for those who want a little added protection against stamps slipping off. A zippered binder would add extra peace of mind.

I saw pictures on some who just put her panels in a box/crate so she can flip through them.

Thanks, Vexed Angel for your comment about the inserts.

I bought CD cases yesterday and this morning tried to put a stamp set in there without success. I couldn't get the case to close because of the circle and bump in the middle and was getting very frustrated.

So, I came here for information on what kind of blank CD cases people bought. After reading your comment, I looked at my CD case and found the insert does pop out.

I feel so foolish for not knowing the middle pops out, but that's one of the reasons I come here, to learn.

Thanks again for your comment. You saved me a lot more frustration!

Archivers has them in three sizes, the thin was either 2.49 or 2.99, I bought one, but didn't really care for it.

I ended up going with
http://donkeysmiles.blogspot.com/200...d-donkeys.html

I had the local office max laminate cardstock and the box was also available there, so I am quite happy with my choice.

I actually did find them online, doing a google search, but not positive if i really want to do it. I remember seeing a post of your system before and liking it. I had a hard time finding the boxes. I guess i have to sit down and really figure out exactly what i want to do. It looks like you have tried them all!! Thanks for all the info.

I store my clear stamps in clear Ultra Pro pages and they fit perfectly in a generic 3 ring binder. They are acid free and very cheap:

And this is where I buy them:

9 pocket (for sports cards) - http://www.the2buds.com/supg9.htm
4 pocket - http://www.the2buds.com/supg4.htm
3 pocket - http://www.the2buds.com/supg3.htm
2 pocket - http://www.the2buds.com/supg2.htm
1 pocket - http://www.the2buds.com/supg1b.htm

HTH!
