Default Which scanner should I buy???

I need an inexpensive scanner, for vintage papers and photos that I want to use for ATCs, etc, without using the original. Any suggestions?

Hi! Epson sets the standard (I think) for scanners. We have a jumbo deluxe model at work and all the techies swear by it. At home I have an Epson also. Some features I like about my home model are: separate ink wells. That way if you run out of one color, you aren't replacing the entire cartridge that's full of the other colors. The lid is not 'fixed.' Meaning it has some give to it on some type of hinge thing so if you put a book or lumpy card on it, the lid still lays flat on the document/book/card. Finally, the price was right--about $150ish at Sam's Club. Santa brought it to me!

Go here to read up on scanners before making your choice:

http://products.howstuffworks.com/scanner-reviews.htm

You will learn about prices, reviews and how a scanner works. I thought it was pretty good information for the laywoman! Good advice they gave was to make sure your computer has the 'guts' to handle the scanner.

GL with your scanning!

Epson scanners are excellent scanners. I think HP's are pretty good as well but you get what you pay for. With the cheap ones you have to play around to get a true color representation of your image. Another alternative is to take digital photos of your work , I think most people do that and with better results. The main advantage of photos is it doesn't flatten the look of your card like a scanner would, especially if you have lots of embellishments.
A light box does wonders for your finished picture. It's cheap and gives you a professional look. Here is one I found on line.

Good luck.

What model Epson scanner did you get from Sam's Club? I looked on the Epson site and there are many to choose from. Thanks.

Thats a good link you can also try the link below. I also have a Epson at home , its a massive professional size that I use for work and I really cant say that Ive had any problems with it.

Default scanner

I personally wouldnt buy just a scanner. I would dump my present printer and goto a printer copier scanner fax combo. why have another peice of equipment on your puter desk when you can have it all in one machine. mine is an hp photo printer combo and its great, epson i am sure makes a combo one also. put your old printer on ebay and buy yourself a combo
