I have this tool and I really like it, but I am not sure I am using it right. My folds aren't as consistant as I would like. After you score the paper, which way do I fold the paper...away from me or towards me. I have tried it both ways and I still can't figure out which way is right.
You fold it toward you; in other words, where the scorer breaks the fibers of the paper (on the underside) that is the side that will be the outside of the card when it is folded. Hope this helps!

I always have to think about how to fold my cardstock too. The way I remember is that the paper that is facing you (or is "up") on the Scor-It is the inside of the card. The side that is laying on the Scor-It is the outside of the card. (Although I score before I make a card.)

Here it is, this is a pdf file, I found it off of the scor-it website www.scorit.com
http://www.scorit.com/art/Instructions.pdf
In it it says:
6. To fold, after the score is made, fold the paper so that the ridge of
the score faces in. If you fold the paper with the ridge facing out, the
paper grain will be weakened and the paper could tear.
