I was wondering how the Score-Pal scores on SU card stock.
My Fiskers scores 'cheap' card stock very good, but I can hardly find the score line on SU card stock. I even run the score blade over about six times.
So, before I take advantage of this month's free shipping and invest in a Scoe-Pal, I would appreciate your input. TIA!
I use it for the heavier PTI cardstock as well and it works great. I even did SUPER thick acetate (it was actually the blister packaging from a Sizzix XL die) and it scored nicely. I used it to make a "wrapper" for a matchbox.
i love my scorpal. it is the best investment i have ever made with regard to crafting tools.
scorpal is great on all cardstock, including SU. i use my scorpal every time i make a card. i have used it on SU, Papertrey and Gina K. it does a perfect job every time.
i usually run the scoring tool over the cardstock twice but only because that's me and i want a really definite score line.
just a little caution, don't go too quickly. i find that when i do the scoring tool jumps out of the rail and very easily makes a line where you don't want it.
Works great on their cardstock. Especially when you have to make the fold against the grain. I'm tempted to bring mine to my demo's card classes, she hasn't got one (yet, anyway) and the cards I make there have ugly, cracked folds!
I can't simply fold over and use a bone folder on a card. It always turns out crooked and messy.
I love the pal, too. I pulled out a piece of white cs, probably from Staples, yesterday and it didn't want to score the first time. Finally it did. I'm wondering if we run the tool over some wax paper, like when doing dry embossing, if it would work better. Guess I'll try that later today.
I bought mine a couple weeks ago after all of the positive comments...I actually need to get it out in the morning and use it as I am working on wedding invitations. I know everyone LOVES it but it just looks scary to figure out!!!
I love mine. Scored a couple hundred cards for a benefit, then it didn't work so well. The tool tip was completely worn down! HA!

Do you have an older scoring tool?? They have an update one, it's been out for a while... you might want to check their site. You can order just the tool. I think they found if you didn't hold the tool like a pencil, the tool worn down... Check in the members companies in the forums here... they talk about it....

It's not scary Go for it!!! You'll be amazed at what you can do!! Look at their site or the member companies for their forum, pick out a project and practice... You'll LOVE using it....
Yeah, I think it was. I already bought 2 new ones, they had free shipping a few weeks ago too, for some reason. I laughed when I compared the old to the new! The old one had completely rounded off the point. No wonder I had trouble lately staying in the groove! LOL. I do hold it right, it just was too many in a row or something....
I'm really fussy about how things work with different types of cardstock, and please believe that of all the CS I have used with my SP, I have yet to find one that it doesn't work great with, and that includes PTI, Gina K and SU!!!!
