I have always used the Red Sticky Tape (the name of it escapes me) for making boxes, bags, 3-D items, but have been seeing score tape advertised. Is it as strong as the red tape? Which do you prefer? If you like the Score Tape, what width is your fav?
Any help would be appreciated!

I always used the red tape until I tried the Scor Tape. There is no comparison. You can rip the ScorTape with your fingers and don't even need scissors. ScorTape also doesn't get all the static that red tape gets. I use the 1/4 and 1/2 inche widths.

OMGosh - you have me SOLD! I hate gumming up my scissors. Also I have acrylic nails which makes the red stuff even harder to work with.

I got the scor-tape from PTI, and love it! Like another poster mentioned, it's nice to be able to not have to use scissors. Right now I only have the 1/2 inch size, but definitely want to get the 1/4 size too for smaller things. I think it holds great.
She has it specially made for her store. I believe it's similar to the red-line tape. It sticks EVERYTHING and holds very strongly. Love it for altered items, boxes, etc.
Scor-tape is da bomb! DEFINITELY holds as well as red line tape (Wonder Tape, Terrifically Tacky Tape, etc). You have got to try it! Very quick'n'easy - just rip a piece off and stick it. I use 1/4" the most.
I definitely recommend the Scor-Tape. Much cheaper and much easier to work with. You can use it for glitter lines, sometimes I just use it to hold ribbon. I love the fact that it can just be torn. I have 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2. I would say that I almost always use the 1/4". I get mine at scor-pal.
For everyday use, I love the the scor-tape. The ONE thing I find I prefer red-liner taper for is beaded pens. The red-liner tape is just that bit deeper & grabs the beads better.

I used to use Teriffically Tacky Tape (the red stuff from Michaels) before I heard about Scor-Tape. I'm very sold on the Scor-Tape now. It works better IMO, it's so much easier to use and it's really a lot cheaper. I buy it from Scrapbooking Alley, free shipping, great prices. I have the 1/8", the 1/4" and the 1/2" and also the sheets. I use all three widths, for different things. I use Scor-Tape for most of my adhesive needs, just because it's inexpensive and holds so well. I'd at least buy a roll and try it.
I am hoping to pick up some at CHA on Sat. Otherwise I will order it!!
Thanks ladies!

I just bought the 1/8" size from my hobby store. I know i've seen it mentioned allot on threads here, so I went ahead and got some. can't wait to try it out. Also if you go on their website they have a gallery with ideas, also youtube has some good videos.
Oh. My. Stars. Can you be in love with adhesive?? Based on the comments in this thread, I ordered some from scrapbookingalley.com (LOVE them, too!!). I love that there's no static-y red stuff that just won't come off your fingers! And you can tear it! And there is so much on the roll!

Woot!
I think you CAN be in love with adhesive! I know I am in love with Scor-Tape. It's made my life so much easier - no gumming up my scissors, no red backer that sticks to everything and then some, and I think the Scor-Tape is stronger, I KNOW it is cheaper, and it's all around better!!!
I LOVE my ScorTape!!! I have both and from now on I will just buy the ScorTape, as I hate when I'm working on a project and that red stuff sticks to me!!!!
Scor tape is the best and easiest adhesive I've even used. No more gunk on scissors was the greatest advantage.

fastmommie......Yes, I feel you can use the ATG for boxes if you want. I just find it awkward to get the gun into position to adhere the adhesive. But certainly the ATG is strong sticky. I use the ATG for larger flat items.
I really just prefer the Scor-Tape. No scissors required and it's a longer roll than the red liner stuff that does require scissors to cut.
I just tried Scor-Tape this past December when I ordered the Scor-Pal Ultimate Kit (right now, they have a different special-when wanting to ty several Scor-PAl products)- but back when I ordered mine I received 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and sheets of Scor-Tape and totally fell in love with this adhesive, I have tons of different adhesive but now I 90% of the time reach for my Scor-Tape and it works well with 3-D items like boxes, holding metal embellies, glitter stripes are a breeze and after trying the glitter cloth at the same time, cleaning up glitter and Embossing powders are easy too. No static on the stipes and it is super cheap.I recommend everyone at least try out this fabulous cheap tape that holds everything.
