Question Scrapbook 101- card stock or DP?

Hi--

I've been stamping for awhile and am just ready to do my first scrapbook. Paper question: do you use card stock for pages, and just embellish it with the designer papers? Or, can you use a sheet of DP as the page itself?

I appreciate your help, thanks!

You can do either; I have found after years of scrapbooking, I also make
cards using designer paper scraps, and when I get coupons like 40% off, I like to use it on the $20. paper packages like basic grey, ki memories
J&K company and save money that way and they co-ordinate lovely.
there are so many challenging supplies to have fun with now. Carolyn

I'm new to scrapbooking but I have been using the patterned paper as the background and then a solid to mat my images.

You can do both. I tend to use CS as my base and accent with the pattern papers. I do have some layouts that I used the pattern paper as a base. So do whatever you like

I would think you'd want to be careful not to use too much cardstock in your layouts as a background. This would add too much weight to your album and perhaps put stress on the binding over time.
(my two cents for what it's worth! )

I do both, but I tend to only use DP as a base if it's cardstock weight. I tend to embellish a lot, so I like to use a sturdy base.
