Size of Marvy super square punch?

So I went to M's yesterday and used my coupon to buy the Marvy super square punch because the package said it punched shapes 1 7/8"-2" and I really want a 2" square punch so I can use it to layer with my CM square punches. Anyway I gleefully brought it home and punched out a square only to discover it was only 1.5"!!! The other marvy punches (circles) I have actually were the size on the package.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is the package mislabeled? Should I take it back to Michael's or try and deal with Marvy directly? Is there a 2" square punch available anywhere?

EK Success *may* have one. I know they have squares in smaller sizes, but I'm not sure about the 2" one. Hobby Lobby sells them too. Joann's and Mike's never seem to have much variety, if any, of them. BTW, EK Success states the size clearly on the package and it is a true size, unlike the Marvy ones. Also, SU's punches are made by EK Success, so it's the same quality, but with a different label.

I guess it makes sense if they measure on the diagonal. Drat. Well at least I know now and can get the Giga punch which should give me ~2". Hopefully Michael's will let me exchange. They should post a sign or something letting people know that they're measured on the diagonal. It's just not intuitive in a square.

I agree. How would one know that? It should say "diagonal measures 2"" or hypotenuse measures.....
I always wondered why there was an interval. It is what it is!

Be sure and get the Clever Lever punch! I got the one (at Michael's) before Christmas that wasn't a "Clever Lever" and I literally had to stand on it to be able to punch it! I ordered the Clever Lever oval scallop from joann.com and it is sooooo easy to punch. They are both Marvy Giga punches (the biggest ones). The Clever Lever one is purple. The hard to use one is blue. Hope this helps!

I am sorry that happened to you. But, now I know not to buy the same thing, lol.

I kept looking at the package and trying to see how big the square actually was on one of the scalloped squares. I had a feeling it was not as big as the measurements said.

I decided to keep handcutting squares and do without scallops.
