I found about 6 or 8 different Sizzix alphabets on clearance at Michaels for $9.97 each. They were regularly $149 each. I bought 3 different ones - I couldn't believe the incredible price!! Even if I only use them once it was worth it!!
The stores my sisters and nieces went had only garden delight,endless love,sunset, boxed brush,alpha bubbles, rat-a-tat, mac and cheese and curlie girlie. We all bought three and have all of the ones available amongest all of us. Another thread mentioned girls are weird on the list.
Our Michaels' stores in Baltimore had the alphabets on sale over a month ago for around $35 each. I decided to think it over, and a day later was too late. Word to the wise: go prepared to make an impulse purchase if they're there!

Isn't that garden Delight just beautiful? I think it could be used for fall, too! My sister got to use her 40% coupon; when I tried to use mine at the other M's, they wouldn't let me. She'll never let me live that one down! LoL!

I have learned that about a lot of things....you can usually take them back if you change your mind. I almost never change my mind on those type of purchases;)

I loved that garden delight, I didn't think about using it for fall. Too bad they didn't let you use the coupon. :(
I bought five sets. One lady didn't let me use a coupon. Three others did, LOL!
I got Garden Delight, Endless Love, Girlie Curlie, Funky Brush, and Sunset.
I already have Girlz are Weird and Rat-a-Tat; Mac N Cheez looked too skinney for me to work with easily, so I passed on it. I may go back for Alpha Bubbles.

Take it to register and ask them about it. I was at one near me last night and they where 9.97 but I wasn't sure about the ones they had. I went to another one and they had one I wanted but it was 69.99. Took it the register to ask and the manager said they just had not completed the price changes yet. They let me have it for 9.97 and then use a 50% coupon. YEH!!!!!
You all used a coupon on top of the $9.97 price??!! I already felt like I was *stealing* them at under $10, down from $149!!! Didn't try, even though I had two 50% off coupons with me. I got Curlie Girlie, Funky Brush and their last Endless Love. The sales clerk told me they had just been marked down two days ago and they were almost all gone.
Thanks to this thread, I went over today. (My hubby had knee surgery yesterday, so I couldn't go until late today.) There was just one left, but I bought it. It was Sunset. I had a 40% off coupon, but she said I couldn't use it. She didn't try. She just said no. Oh well.
I happened to be another part of town, so I went into M's while I was there. There was no trace of them ever having had the alphabets, much less them being on clearance. But, I was so proud of myself! I looked around, and then walked out without buying one single thing!!!!

Last night I dragged my hubby to Michaels and bought 3 sets- I could have gotten 2 other styles, but they just weren't my taste. Across the checkout lane was another woman several sets and we got to chatting while the clerk went to the storeroom to get the actual sets. She comments that also learned about this great sale here at SCS, then she kindly gave me a 40% off coupon to use. As we were walking out, hubby commented that he couldn't believe that I had just gotten $450 worth of mds for less than $30
i am off to Michael's to hopefully get this great deal on at least one of the sets.. Our stores here in MI only let you use the coupons on regular price merchandise.
My Michaels had the Alphabets on clearance for 69.99 and now just lowered the price to 9.97. So if your Michaels has them on clearance for 69.99 keep checking. The woman at Michaels told me Sizzix is coming out with new Alphabets so they are discontinuing the ones they carry now.
If you go to Michaels and the price says $69.99 ask a saleperson to scan and check the price for you. I read that the price change was done at corporate and that their computers are updated, even if they don't have the clearance price sticker on them yet.
Went to another Michaels over the weekend and got 9 more alphas...they let me use a 50% off coupon on EACH one so that brought each one to less than $5.00. I spent just over $50.00 for the 9 of them..WOW! OH and they still had some left...

Seriously. :confused: You are the one who bought out the other Michaels on your lunch break to sell them on ebay so no one else could get any. You really went to another Michaels to buy 9 more to sell on ebay? :mad:
I went to one more Michael's today. That makes three Michael's, and just one alphabet, which was the first store that I went to. They wouldn't let me use the coupon.:( On the bright side, I only spent $9.99 plus tax.

I wish my store had half that many. So, how many did you get all together?
I am not sure how many I got all together...but as I stated up above, I did share some with my sisters, kept a few and put the balance on Ebay. So I did not buy them JUST for Ebay. The money I make reselling some things helps me with postage and supplies to send cards to the troops. I am closing in on 35,000 sent. NOT a cheap project.

Is that really necessary? Amber is one of the sweetest ladies here. She's one of the first people to offer help, support, whatever to others. She sent one lady who had a new baby a TON of stuff to SELL at a craft show when the lady couldn't find the time to craft for herself. She expected nothing in return.
If she snags a good deal and sells them on ebay, so what? Have you ever sold on ebay? I have and it's a lot of work for not a lot of profit.
If she didn't swipe them out of your cart or grab it out of your hand, I don't see the issue. :confused:
