Im having problems with my new Slice machine. It just isn't working as well as I expected. The circles are off a bit, tags are cutting crooked, card stock doesn't work with it at all. I'm gonna return it and get a different one hoping that it is just this machine and not the Slice in general. Anyone else having the same issues?
I haven't had any problems with mine. Did you home yours to see if that's the problem? The first time I changed the blade I jammed it in too far. It didn't work with cardstock when I did that. I just took the blade out and put it back and and haven't had any problems since.
Did yours ever cut right, though?

They are very helpful and it could be something really simple..
I would highly Recommend to everyone and Anyone to throughly read your instructions as well.. There is a lot of built in safety things so parts won't break.. Just wish I had my manual..
Good Luck but don't be in too big a hurry to return it..

There have been a lot of issues. Some have great luck, some not so much. Some people are less picky I guess. I am very picky about shapes so I just returned mine and didn't bother to get another one.
I've had mine since Christmas and love it! Smaller shapes are the ones that aren't perfect but all the shapes I've cut 2" and larger have been great!! If you can get your Slice with a coupon, I think it's well worth the money. Sure is a lot cheaper than buying a lot of punches or Cuttlebug dies (and I've done both!!)

I completely agree. If you take some time to get used to it and learn the machine I think it will all make sense..

There are a few Slice threads floating around on SCS and there's a Yahoo Group called The Slice Users. Yes, there are known issues especially with the Basics 1 cartridge and MM is aware and says they are working on fixes. I highly recommend an overnight charge before doing any further cutting. The battery is very sensitive and while the instructions might lead you to believe that a one hour charge is all it needs, I have found that mine performs much better with an overnight charge. If I am using it for an extended time, I leave it plugged in when using it.
Wow thanks for all your comments I have read throught other threads. My 30 days are up in about 5 days and I have been tring like crazy to like this thing. but I just don't like it enought to spend $150.00 on it. I gonna return it and wait for the next version or pick up and expression cricut we will see

That's the reason I returned mine. Receipts are only good for so many days, and I wasn't going to run the risk of being saddled with a crummy machine while MM figured out how to fix it (if it can even be fixed).
I'm going to spend the money on Nesties and wait for the Slice II. :-) I have a Cricut and a KNK, so I didn't need the Slice enough to put up with all its problems, but it sure looked like a cool little machine. When a reliable version hits the market, I'll give it another try.
What a bummer, sorry to hear that you could not return it! I also have the 'Slice" but have not tried it yet! You can go to www.whyslice.com. I have gone to their site and watched each video for the slice. It is very informative and maybe this will help you with it. I was talking with a friend of mine who works at our LSS and they have sold a ton of these with no problems. Take your time with it and maybe once you get more comfortable with it, it will work better for you! Hope this helps you!
I too am having problems -- scrapbooking store sent it back to MM for repair -- honsestly I hope it works -- I bougth it cut out tiny shapes and if can't do that?? I too have a cricut and it manages to cut small things out just fine -- in fact I got the cricut on sale and paid less for it than the slice.
I rarely get worked up about things, but my lss is saying that they might not take it back!!! If it doesn't work??? ARGG....
Well I finally had time to use the "slice" and sadly enough I'm packing it up and returning it! I cut out the tags, circles, and hearts all of which came out lopsided! I watched each video segment on it to make sure I was using it correctly and still the same problem. Maybe sometime in the future they will perfect this tool and I will try it again!
