can anyone explain how to put my stamp pad back together? it's the classic pad. my hands are full of ink, and am just resorting to this forum instead of doing the same mistake over and over and getting no where. thanks, i know someone's got a special trick for me.
I have a classic black that does this all the time. I have to be gentle opening it or it will come apart on me. You may have to open another ink pad to help understand my instructions. The easiest way I know to tell you is to angle the piece with ink pad on it- it also has the little knobs (nobs?) that slide into the track. Ink pad facing up, put one knob into the track down where the pad rotates open and closed. Then try to push the other knob into the track in that same spot. You may have do a little wiggling. Mine will usually get on track and act right. Does this make sense? The first time it happened, I had to open and close another pad a few times to see how the contraption worked! And yes, you will still get ink on your hands!

I dont mean to laugh, but I have this problem with my Black stamp pad too. When I tried to open it one day, it flew onto the floor...I said a few words, anyhow, my hands were so full of ink that day..still sometimes. I just sautered one of the nobs and it shuts now..Good luck. I really didnt mean to laugh.

Place the lid on top of the bottom (OK, that sounds obvious, doesn't it???) as if it were closed the right way. Now press with your hands flat down on the lid. It should pop right in! The best part of this method is that it doesn't get ink on your hands!
i have it fixed now, but if this happens to others, then i'm thankful for the response, and i will be definetly trying that last solution next time. it sounds alot cleaner, and you can tell which of my stamp pads have been off track, the dirty ones. thanks, elaina
Is there anything you scsisters don't know how to fix...lol..thanks for the information..in case it happens to me. But as a side note i think i will be sticking to the spots from now on..i am not liking the big pads too much..as they are not even and i have to tap tap from the sides..
loves ya

Yep! just happened to me yesterday and took me 30 min to figure out how to get it back together! Plus both hands full of ink! I finally got out another pad and looked at it and figured it out... then it just snapped back in place! DUH!
God bless

I'm glad I'm not the only one..this happened to me at a workshop full of women...I went to show how easy they were to open and use and the ink pad flew across the room and landed in the hostess's lap...I was mortified..luckily she was a dear friend and wasn't to mad...it seems to only happen with the black.
i have a few that do this from time to time, too ... my caution ... be careful ... i have gotten some nasty pinches from my stamp pads trying to reassemble!!
