Default STAMPIN UP INK PAD ISSUES?

I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD ISSUES WITH THE FOAM PADS? I HAVE A COUPLE THAT ARE DRYING UP BUT NEVER BEEN USED. I GOT A REINKER FOR ONE OF THEM AND THE PAD WONT ABSORB THE INK.

THEY ARE THE FOAM INKS THAT FIRST CAME OUT WITH THE OLD STYLE PAD MOLD.

Lately, I have found that my pads are drying out but have no issues with reinking them. I use the back of a spoon to rub the ink in.

I still love ❤️ my linen pads! I’ve had some for years and years that I’ve never had to re-ink

I just used my lemon lime twist for the first time and it was dry!! Grrrrrr! I’m going to try ink refresher on it.

When a color would retire I figured one Re inker would be plenty. Now I feel like they will dry up too quickly.

Me too! (Foam ink pads that first came out from SU, in the "old" container style.) I have some of these foam pads that I don't think I've had for a year, & they are already dry! (Pool Party & Bermuda Bay, to name two.) Also, has anyone else noticed a weird smell coming from the foam pads, or is it just me?

I have a Berry Burst Stampin' Spot, & it is still juicy & works just fine. I also have the full-size Berry Burst foam pad, & not only does it have a weird smell, small 'pock marks' have started to appear on the pad surface. :o And it seems like the ink stays wet forever; I used it with a sentiment stamp, & ended up smearing it even tho it was around an hour later that I got around to attaching it to my card (due to interruptions from family...sigh!)

I really don't want to replace SU stamp pads just to get the colors I already have, use, & like (I am not a demo), especially now that they have changed the design--I'm not sure they'll fit in what I use to organize my stamp pads!

BTW: I still have some of the old "clam shell" design containers, with the linen pads, & they are still going strong (a lot of retired colors, but I still like & use them!). Seems like I only have to drop a few drops of reinker on them every other year!

I also have noticed that half of the new style foam ink pads have a smell and some have Lil “ant hills”.  They still work fine just wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

You know, I've noticed the "pot marks" on my first style firm foam pads, too! What is that all about?! The newer square style foam pads are doing fine, but my Pineapple Punch pad started detaching from the base! When I stamp with it, the corner lifts up. I suppose I could just use super glue to put it back down (has anyone done that?) but I'm scared to use any chemicals with them. I really want to just start making my own linen pads using the refills I have, but I'm hoping to find a sightly bigger "mini" ink pad that my fingers can hold onto

Several of mine that have "molded" on me. It makes it impossible to get a clean image when there are all these bumps on them and also they don't absorb any more ink. Luckily, my Demonstrator got them replaced for me. I have 2 more that have "molded" so hoping she can get SU to replace them as well. SU has always been good about standing behind their products so I'm hopeful that these will be replaced as well.
