Ok, I'm sure this has been on here before, but here it comes again! What do you think is the best way to store your stamp pads? I keep mine in a clear plastic storage box, but I have to dig through them to find the one I want. I've actually stopped buying them because I'm limited on storage space - I just use the spots. I've been thinking about getting the Color Caddy - is it worth $60.00??

Granna, I see you're in Wheaton. If you're going with the Stack-Bo racks (wall mounted) you can find them in the Bolingbrook IKEA (we're having a discussion on the demo side about this right now.) Someone has looked twice in the Schaumburg store and couldn't find them.
I have two of the Color Caddies and like them because it's a small "footprint" on my worksurface (I don't have a lot of space.) So basically it fits my needs, but there are a lot of options out there.

I love the color caddy for the same reason Rubbernecker (fun id!) mentioned because it takes up such a small area of my table and I don't have wall space to use for my ink pads. I got the extender and it is even better now! I do think it is worth the money.
Do the Stackebos work for other pads (versa mark, Kaliedacplor) or just the new SU ones? Will they hold the spots?
I just tried the StackBo with the pads mentioned above, plus Staz-on and Encore - no they will not hold these (pad with cover is too thick to fit in the slots.) They seem to be perfect for the SU full-size pads.
If you want to spend more for an ink caddy, you can go to suink.net. They are made out of wood, they hold all of the new ink pads, the markers and ink refills, plus some of them have drawers or like a lazy susan on top for other things. Check them out. I think the one I want is $115.00. I haven't quite fully justified spending that much, even though it is very nice and I would love to have one. Two ladies from my office have one of these and they love theirs.

I use an old cassette holder. The kind we used to hang on the walls. It hold the new styles, and the staz-on and versa mark. Colorbox are the only ones that don't fit so far.
I got mine free from Freecycle.org. It's a yahoo group for keeping things out of landfills. Just did a wanted ad for one, and ended up with too. Can't beat free, right?
I also have mine in old cassette tape holders. I really like it. I went into the gallery and searched for ink storage and there are a bunch of pictures of different ways people have their pads stored. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Thank you all for your replies. I don't have room for a wall unit, so I think I'm going to go with one of the styles at suink. They look awesome.

Check out www.cdjdesigns.com I love mine! The footprint is small and they are easy to move--the larger wooden organizers take a man to move! LOL

I was at the Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo in Milwaukee yesterday and saw these on display--they are from Wisconsin. I have seen other people talk about their units before even on the SCS boards, but saw them for the first time in person. They are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check out their website. They are at many conventions as well as selling online.
My DH builds houses, and since he's never built one for me, I talked him into building me a storage box for my ink pads. It's 15" wide, wide enough for 4 stacks.......14"high, enough for 19 pads in each stack.......and 5 1/2 " deep. Then I put some of the rubber trimmings from my stamps just under it in the front, to give it the slightest tilt, so they don't slide forward. Figured this way, I'd have enough room for all 4 color families, plus neutrals and odds and ends pads, (ie versa mark, the few craft pads that i have etc.). I'd post a picture, but I have a terrible time getting the size right on photos to add as attachments, so hopefully I described it well enough to make sense. Love it, and was CHEAP!
