My DH got me a SU paper cutter and after many uses I noticed it does NOT cut straight lines! Either I never noticed before, or....I don't know! Anyone else have this problem? What should I do?
I have that problem with my Fiskar's paper cutter. It took me a long time to notice it as well. For a while I would just tilt my paper a teeny tiny bit. After I got tired of doing that, I experimented with it and found that if I pushed the blade flush up against the left side of the groove and held it like that while it was cutting, it gave me a straighter cut. I don't know what SU's paper cutter looks like - maybe you can experiment with it too?

Yea, I had to do that with mine too. I just get annoyed because sometimes I forget and....whoops! I wonder if because the groove is plastic, it get's warped after many uses.
So, I'm guessing it's the Fiskars brand that SU sells that is giving you a problem since the Tabletop wasn't available for Christmas 2005. If I'm correct, I recommend you contact them directly. They guarantee their products forever and they may send you a new guard or a whole new cutter. It's worth a shot.
The Paper Cutter is made by Fiskars. I haven't seen one in the packaging for a bit but I seem to remember it had Fiskars on it. The packaging may have changed. It's just a different color from the one available in craft stores.
regardless how old your paper cutter from SU is, call them (have your demo call them). SU will stand behind their product. I've ordered a cutter from SU and had to have them send me 3 diffferent ones before I got a good one. Don't know if they just got a bad lot or what.
I actually had bought my own Tonic from a local craft store about a year earlier. My cuts are sharp, clean, straight, perfect everytime. I even cut 2 or 3 pieces of card stock together...and it's perfect.
I had a few Fiskars ones (different sizes) that just weren't satisfactory. Finally got the Tonic which I love! No problems since!!! (and the Fiskars sits on a shelf!)
