I bought some blender pens a few weeks ago. So now I think I'm going to order a set of watercolor crayons, but I don't know which one to start with. Which set do you recomend?
Do you have to have a new set? The only reason I ask, is that I bought an old set in great condition from ebay. I probably did not save any money, but I was able to get all of the WWC in a single box which is very nice. Not sure why SU broke the set into segments. Just a thought. BTW-I love these!
I am no help because I ordered the entire set when you could get it all together in one tin. I also have the neutrals. I use the big set all the time but have yet to use the neutrals.
blessings.

Some people wanted to replace some of their crayons and did not want to purchase the entire large set again. So yes, it may have been to get more money, but I actually think it was in response to customer (demo) demand that they be divided up.
The reason they broke them into sets is because people were not very willing to spend so much money on one purchase. I never sold one complete set but have sold lots of the WCC in individual color groups! They are more expensive that way, but people get in mind that 19.95 four times is better than $60 all at once. I agree that you should stay away from Soft Subtles until last. I love the rich regals because I use them on so many flower stamps!

I would agree that they probably split them up due to requests too...so you didn't have to buy the whole set. You could get them in each color family as budget allows and didn't have to get a whole family if you don't like that one. I too got mine all together. I say go for the family that you tend to use the most first and then go from there.
I use RR and EE a lot...good for the florals and natural scenes that I gravitate toward. I might figure out which sets you want to use them with...then which colors would go well with those images.
Earth Elements definitely. Then RR.....then BB.
I have all of them - bought one set at a time. It helped buying that way. I do have the neutrals, but like everyone else, I wonder why I had to have them
You will LOVE them.....
I use the neutrals almost every time. The basic grey to darken colors, the sahara sand to outline images, the white to give a more pastel look to the image (especially over stamped portions), the vanilla is a fun white wash look over dark cardstock.

I ordered EE wonder crayons along with some paper and a stamp set of course. ;) I cannot wait to get them in. I'm really enjoying the blender pens. I've been using them with watercolor pencils, pastels and markers. They're awesome!
