My sis and I are ordering the medium and large SU ribbon holders and had an idea. We called our demo with it and she tried the idea. Well it worked.
Why not use a crop-o-dile to punch out some holes in the front of the ribbon keeper to thread the ribbons thru? Susan, my demo, said it worked wonderfully! Now the ribbon is a bit more managable!
I'm going to try this. I love the ribbon holder but the ends of the ribbon get tangled up--this should be great! Thank you for sharing. One thought--it won't make the plastic too weak in the front will it?
As soon as my ribbon holders arrive I am going to be punching those holes! Will post you a photo after I am done.....I have 23 rolls of SU grosgrain in a shoe box begging for a better home.
The concept sounds great. But I don't own a crop-o-dile. I wonder if my slot punch would work . . .
I would hate for you to break your slot punch. I did this with mine after trying to punch too many layers of cardstock. The reason I believe the cropadile is going to work great is that it will punch through items as thick is tin even!
Well, I am the one that actually punched the hole! Yes, I was nervous -- I thought about doing it on the side to see if it would work, but gathered my courage and "just did it" LOL. It cut through like butter!!! I haven't had much play time (I am at work and should not be on here) but I don't think it will weaken the plastic to punch holes all the way across. I definitely don't think the slot punch would work. There is that little metal at the top and I doubt a regular punch would be wide enough for that thickness.

I'm gonna do it! I don't have a CoD, but I have my Anywhere Punch and a hammer! Oooohhh, I can't wait to get home! Thanks for the tip!

I also cut a strip off of the extra piece of plastic that I guess you are supposed to put inside to hold up the spools of ribbon. Then I took that, folded the ends so that they fit across the front and onto the sides, punched a hole, and attached with a brad on the sides. Then I threaded the ribbon under that strip in the front. Helps to hold them in place. I do like that hole punch idea, though, and may do that too!
