Default Super slim round magnets for closures?

Hello Fellow Paper Crafters,

I am looking for super slim round magnets that I can use for closures....like the basic grey ones.  Does anyone have any resources of what I can use to substitute the basic grey ones that may be more economical?

Peace & Blessings,
Laura

I love the basic Grey magnets but they are expensive and hard to find so I have switched to Velcro! I buy what's called low profile, which basically means they are super slim. And they are nearly invisible and hold well!

I've used scraps of the magnetic vent covers (leftover from die storage adventures) in place of regular magnets. I would test this on scraps to be sure that they are strong enough to hold whatever you need them to hold...

Basic Gray seemed to almost disappear, but are back at quite a few retailers. Just google on “Basic Gray magnets.” They come in different sizes. Here are small ones discounted at JoAnn for $5.09. I love the satisfying little click feeling when they close. Cheap thrills.

When I want an even flatter closure, I use an extremely flat backing piece (called targets) with the Basic Gray magnet. Unfortunately I don’t remember where I bought them.

Depending on what you are using them for be careful.  I made some great little wallets and purses one Christmas for gift cards and those magnets took off the info on those gift cards.  Never again will I use them for that purpose.  velcrove is great.

Lorrie makes a good point, though. Don't use them if its for gift cards! I bought my Velcro slim profiles in different sizes. 3/8" and 5/8" are two sizes I bought.

Idea Found an option on Amazon

Laura, check out these slim magnets from 3M. Much more economical option!

I can't paste the link - but search Amazon for "Round Magnets with Adhesive Backing, 120 Pieces Magnet Circles (Diameter 0.8’” x 0.08”) on 4 Tape Sheets, with 3M Strong Adhesive Backing."
