My head is definitely reeling but I would rather have more information than less. All of the answers have definitely led me down the path I was already headed--more paper and ink and less other 'stuff'.
Now I just need to decide if I want to do the watercolor on my cards using watercolor crayons or buy ink pads/refills to use for watercoloring. My demonstrator(and neighbor) lent me her soft subtles crayons while I was out of town which I tried out with a blender pen but I wasn't thrilled with the result. I think part of it may have been that I only had very vanilla paper which gives a weird affect with the lighter soft subtles colors. Definitely need some whisper white paper for the final project.
I also haven't been very thrilled with the WC crayons but some people love them. I think they give a more subtle color than when watercoloring with your inks so I think it depends on what kind of look you're going for. Personally, I've held off on getting the WC crayons because I have all the inks and if I'm in a hurry, I have the chalks (Stamping Pastels) which are awesome. If you don't have the pastels, I highly recommend them. They are good for many techniques and you have all 48 colors right there (for cheap).
Yes,
I am trying to decide if I should get crayons or ink spots for watercoloring. The price is compareble, but I don't know how long the spots will last.
I just thought I would let everyone know that I made all of my decisions and placed my order. I ended up getting lots of paper, a few ink pads, 2 sets of ink spots(going to use these for watercoloring) and some white grosgrain ribbon. I'm going to buy some random other supplies at the craft store this week. ACMoore is having a big sale Saturday on fiskars and EKsuccess supplies during their scrapbooking event.
Can someone tell me what LSS is? I see several people using this acronym.

LSS is Local Scrapbook Store
BTW, not sure if you knew or not but... you can reink the spots too. If you buy a set of spots and a set of reinkers you'll be set for a very long time ;)
I like SU Punches but everyone keeps saying the OVAL one is exclusive to SU but i bought one the large oval at my LSS and the only difference is its gray not black.

I use the markers for watercoloring. I have a couple of those watercolor trays with the little dips (bought at Mike's for 99 cents each). I just scribble in the bottom of the dip with marker and then use my Dove blender to pick up the color. I've also used the Dove blender with my chalks too.

[quote=Homemommie][quote=housefan]I buy my Kai scissors for $2.99 a pair from an ebay guy.

Could you tell me who you buy from? I would love to get a couple extra pairs of scissors , especially at that price.
I believe I've read elsewhere on this site that these are "look-a-like" scissors and that they don't really compare to the REAL Kai scissors. Although I guess if they have the Kai logo on the blade, then they could be real. If you are looking for a price break, you can buy the real deal Kai scissors from Viva Las Vegastamps that are used but resharpened for $10.95. These scissors are worth the $20... I've spent too much money on other brands but none compare to these for cutting rubber.

Not to hijack or anything but thought since this is about SU! accessories I'd post here what are the sanding blocks for? Are these to rub the stamps with? Thanks!

I think it's for distressing the paper. Sanding the edges, etc. You can also use this if you dry emboss on white core paper. Run the sanding block over the raised portions to remove the color of the paper to show the white core. You can also use the sanding blocks to "clean" off stumps when using Gamsol (odorless mineral spirits) and Prisma color pencils.
I'm sure there are other things...

Thanks Kimberly and Cathy. I thought these were the ones you used to rub on solid stamps if they didn't *absorb* even coated inks. Well, wouldn't be ordering those I guess. Thanks again!
As a demonstrator, I strongly feel their card stock, ink, ribbon, and stamps are of great quality and value. Yes you can get other stamps from other manufacturers, (And I do have stamps from other companies). But if you want all of your colors to coordinate then their supplies should be your choice. Also, their blender pens and aqua painters. Others want more money for theirs. The other supplies are basically a preference and saving money. You can get Staz -On and Versamark anywhere. Stampin Up's scrubber is nice and their spray mist. Other stamp scrubbers are white and show all of the ink that gets cleaned off. Granted thats what they are for, but black scrubby's are nicer. They don't look nasty after they have been used.
I agree about the stampin' mist and scrub...I also ditto SU paper, ink and ribbon. I am a matchy-matchy kinda gal and love that everything matches and is a great quality.
Well, It's hard to pick favorites! Besides the card stock/ribbon/inks, I really like the scrapbooking paper/sticker packs. They really go a long way and I like that the stickers are thicker. I love the novelty punches (like the tab), and I use the dazzling diamonds glitter a lot, I think it's the best glitter I've tried. But the thing I can never do without is the Sticky Strip adhesive. It holds like crazy.
I love the colors and so was lucky enough to have started SU when they had the old ink pads. I refuse to buy the new stamp pads due to the sagging...
YES! that's what it is about the stamp pads that bug me, I couldn't quite put my finger on it until you mentioned the sagging.
I usually end up getting out my spots and inking with those, because I seem to get better coverage and control of the ink.
Yup, I *am* a demo, and I adore the stamps, paper, and inks. Oh, and the grosgrain ribbon. You can't beat the quality and price per yard. But I am very content to buy other accessories other places, especially with a coupon. It's when color coordination is an issue that I stick 100% with SU. I just get too frustrated when I can't match papers to inks to embellishments. Some things--like the oval punches--are exclusive to SU. Others, like the brayer, are not.
I'm with Amy on this. I love the stamps, paper, and inks (markers and pads) and all the coordinating stuff like buttons and ribbons and eyelets. Yum Yum! Also the heat gun is pretty high quality. And I have almost all of the punches, some are exclusive to SU.

One of the nice things about SU! papers and inks is that they coordinate...you never have to go looking to match things. The grosgrain ribbon, CS and stamps are a great value. Most retailers sell 12x12 CS for around $0.60 per sheet. The SU! 12x12 CS sells for about $0.35 per sheet. What you spend on one stamp at a store like Michael's, you can spend on an entire set from SU! I'm not talking about the cheap $1 stamps obviously, but the nicer ones, like those from PSX. When I saw my first SU! catalog, I was really disappointed, because the stamps were sold in sets and seemed more expensive. I bought the catty without going to a workshop. Shortly after I got it, I went to a workshop and my mind was totally changed. Just my two cents.
