I need lots of Tacky Tape CHEAP! I am doing 125 pocket card invites. Have calculated I need 10 rolls of 1/4 inch, which is $2.99 at most stores. I thought of using all the discount coupons, but just want to buy it and be done. Are there any discount sites that sell it cheaper?
I get my Tombow refills for $2.50 each thru an office discount site, instead of retail of $3.99. Is there anywhere that sells the Tacky Tape by Provo Craft for cheap?
I'm not going to be of any assistance other than I do know you can get a different brand on-line as my demo had it. At one time I wrote the company down on the inside of the roll, but I have no idea what I've done with it. I would be very interested to know just where to get a nice hefty roll for a cheaper price, too.
I hope this helps, our local dollar store carries rolls of doube sided tape, 1/4 inch by I 'm not sure how long--they go a long way-- for 1$. The name on the package is Desk-Tek. I use it all the time.
I get my double sided tape from "The Paper Pallette". They are awesome!! It is 3.95 a roll, but the roll is like 40 yards!!! It is 1/4 inch and it is also heat resistant... I found it at a craft show years back and I always order on line in bulk so I never run out! I cant remember the on line address though, sorry. I've been having computer trouble and I keep losing all my favorites...
Try a search for The Paper Pallete. They are out of Hawaii..
Good luck!

Is it more like scotch double sided tape, or more like the redline tacky tape (with a liner you peel off once you have one side of it stuck to something)?
I buy my tacky tape from an online site that a friend recommended to me.. I got SUPER service and Lightning Fast Shipping ~ and even got a card in the mail a week or so after my order. I was super impressed with not only the site and service but the quality of the product as well. I bought 20 rolls of the 1/4" size that has 5 yards on each roll and they were only $1.25 each. When I bought them there was a discount on shipping when you purchased so much, not sure if they are still doing that or not.. either way shipping was quite reasonable. Here is a link to the page with the tape.. .scoll down to find it.
the main page is www.apeekintoyesterday.com I clicked on the "shipping" tab near top right corner.. then down the left side on "adhesives" ~ they sell distressers for only $1.00 ~ Heidi Swapp brand I believe... I got a paper piercer for $3.00 too. check it out. Pam

OMG.....thanks millions Airbornewife!!! I will be placing a huge order with them, and this issue with tacky tape is solved. And you swear the tacky tape sold here is every bit as strong as the name brand we pay way too much for at the stores?

I was actually sent to that site a long time ago by another fellow SCS'er and she uses it all the time on everything and so when I got it, I was upset with myself for spending all that money on the red tape from the stores. The stuff is great!~ My hubby has even used it on his fishing poles. My son and me made a project for school, that was last school year, the poster is still hanging on the wall and all the pieces we attached with the tape is still on it.
Did you put them "out of stock" ~ ha ha... you will like it. They got lots of great stuff on their site.
Glad you could get some. Pam

I'm sorry blueheron but the computer finally let me back on.... I've been having trouble.
The tape is something like the red line tape with the liner that you peel off. But it is WAY better than that (IMO). And I was mistaken, it's 55 yards not 40. I just love that tape.
Hugs

Subcribing; hoping Joeknee can find that website.
I googled "The Paper Pallete" & "The Paper Pallet", checked the 1st 10 pages for each and couldn't find it.

If you are set on using the Tacky Tape then keep looking but I'm wondering if you wouldn't want to use the Scotch Brand Quick Dry Glue. It is amazing and very inexpensive!!!! I think one bottle would do your whole set of cards!
Thanks, Ibirus. Does this Scotch brand dry immediately, so I can stick and run? And is it as strong as the red lined tacky tape? I just cant have any weakness with these invites sticking along the sides (like would happen with the snail-type adhesive). Do you get this in the craft aisles of the usual stores?
Thanks again to you, and all that have offered their advice. I'll post them here when they are done, by the end of Feb.

Oh yea! It's very strong and very quick. Others on this site recommended this and I love it. I have recently heard about Mono Multi but I haven't tried it yet. But, I can swear by the "Scotch Quick-Dry Tacky Adhesive" in the white bottle with a red and purple label. It goes on quick and dries quickly too, and I have never had any warping or falling off!
It's worth a try (cheap $4/$5 a bottle) and you can use a coupon! I think Target even sells it! Look in the scrapbook glue sections at Mikes.
They have loads of wonderful stuff... Like I said before, I used to make them #1 priority when I went to the stamp show in California. But I've moved to Kentucky and as far as I know there is nothing around. I have to drive a 1/2 hour just to go to Micheals. That's the only place around so I do a lot of on line buying..

It looks like the tape on Paper Palette website is just the double sided tape with the white peal off paper and not the terrifically tacky tape. The double sided tape in no way takes the place of the tacky tape. It is ok to use only where there is no stress on the bond -- otherwise the double sided tape will not hold.

I got my invitations done and posted, but wanted to share my how thrilled I was that I DID order a ton of tacky tape rolls from the www.apeekintoyesterday.com site. EVERYTHING good said so far is asolutely true! They even had 36 yd rolls available that were cheaper yet. For what its worth, I am picky and give this site a huge stamp of approval!
Thanks to all of you that shared info when I had a question. That is just one reason I love SCS!
