I wanted to try the acetate card and went to my local Office Max for "acetate" sheets. They had "transprencies" like the ones you use in an overhead projector. I am assuming these are the same thing. Problem is they were 50 for $31 ! ! !
Can this be correct or am I looking at the wrong thing?
Hmm... I don't know. I use transparencies for scrapbooking and got 20 of them for like 6 dollars at Oriental Trading.. Sorry I can't help you more!
I had the same issue. I couldn't find them for less than $30. Maybe I am missing something? I am afraid to spend that much and then decide I don't like them or just not use them.

that is my thinking too. Also I thought it would be cool for a stamp a stack but it will cost ME more...I'm gonna check out Oriental Trading...thanks!
I saw them at Michaels yesterday....they were $10 for 50 sheets, located near the cardstock packs - or maybe the envies??? I got mine at Office Depot. A pack of 100 was $16.

Now see, that is way more reasonable. I need to go to Michael's Friday anyway, so I will have to take a look. Thanks!
Just wanted to add a small word of caution: make sure the sheets are not FILM (which is what I ended up with (and returned) from Staples.....much too thin to make a card from
Now I have to go on the hunt again for thicker sheets!
There are several kinds of transparency sheets - inkjet printer, laser printer, and ones for writing on. The ones that are made to write on tend to be the most expensive (I think) ... so check around.
So what thickness do we need if we want to make cards out of them, ya know, actually use the acetate for the card base? This is where I'm confused! (course it doesn't take much these days.....LOL!)

I bought acetate sheets at Archiver's. They are smaller sheets, but are crystal clear. I found that some of the transparencies have a yellowish tone to them.
i just opened a $30.00 package of transparencies from office depot that are a tad sturdier than vellum - i certainly hope they will take them back... i will look at some of the other places mentioned above to see if i can't get some that are thicker... i bought some that are for the copier without the white paper stripe... here's to better luck!
