I have been using Tombo Mono Permanent adhesive for 2 years, and I'm really hoping you ladies can suggest something better. I love the convenience of having it in a dispenser that just zips along, but my complaints are...
* Just doesn't stick well enough for me. I don't like to make a batch of cards only to see the layers popping up as I'm putting them away!
* I run out of it way too quickly. I can go through 2 refills in a night of making 8-12 cards for swaps, depending on the layers.
I love my Mono Multi, but do have an ATG on my wish list. Every once in a while I get the mono multi too close to the edge and it's really sticky when it 'oozes' out. The ATG wouldn't give me that problem. The mono multi is LOTS cheaper though.
I LOVE my ATG too! Best money I ever spent. For me, it seems to be so much more economical in the long term. 36 yards of tape for under $3 vs. nearly $4 for 20 or so feet of tape on the mono tape runners and the like.
I've found that good old Scotch brand double stick tape works for me. I hate the tombo, but still use it to adhere ribbon because I like the way you can run it along the length of the ribbon. It doesn't pop up with the ribbon like it does with the cs.
I use the Trio dispenser from Judikins. If I make a mistake with the layers, I pretty much have to toss part the card -- it adheres that well. Some of you will probably think it's a bit on the expensive side, but I want my cards to last.
What I like most about it is that you get three different widths in the same dispenser. I don't have to go hunting for a certain dispenser when I want a really wide or really narrow tape. I also like the fact that I can just run it along whatever I want to adhere and get the perfect length, unlike using a regular tape dispenser, where I always pull off 1/2" too little or 1/2" too much.
Mono multi or Scotch tacky glue work great. I still keep monoadhesive for ribbon, but the glues designed for paper don't wrinkle and really are permanent. Love them!
ATG Gun!!!
I had the same problems as you with the layers popping up - makes the card look cheap and amateurish! Not exactly the look I was going for! lol
The ATG gun is absolutely the best... nothing comes unstuck and although the initial purchase was an investment - it is SO much more economical than anything else for the quality.
I bought a bunch of rolls when I first purchased the gun and now have no time or money invested in looking for new adhesive or frustration from running out.
I LOVE it.

I also use the ATG gun. I got mine from The Armel Company (you have to email them for the prices because they don't have them listed on the site. They are cheaper than Framing Supplies.
I swore by Trio adhesive by Judikins for about a year, but my dispenser got gunky and rather than clean it I switched to Mono Multi- which is perfect, except with ribbon on SU paper- the glue picks up some of the die and it shows on ribbons.
I should try cleaning the Trio- that thing rocked.
Another vote for ATG!!!!!!! I have had mine for almost 1 year, and I would NEVER trade it for anything! The cost is the most reasonable I have found, the stickiness is the best I have ever found, if you roll off the paper it rubs off! The only bad thing is I am left handed and the roller is on the opposite side, but I got used to it quickly. I also bought mine from www.framinsupplies.com. Hope that helps!
I only buy a few things from Creative Memories but I love their adhesive. I've used hermafix tabs and dots, mono and others but always go back to Creative Memories. They have a new one out that is just awesome and it is refillable.

What's your favorite all-purpose adhesive?
I really like using Scotch Brand Double Stick tape. I buy in at SAMs club for about $8.00 for 6 rolls.
And I also use Mono Multi Glue the one in the Green and White bottle.
It hold's tight and it last a long time.
Agreed! Sounds silly, but my stamping space is seriously limited, so the ATG is not for me. This liquid will *never* wrinkle your paper and works just as well as Crystal Effects for holiding pop-top lids, paper to paint cans, etc. I can usually use it in place of red-liner tape. It is *cheap* and a bottle that lasts forever. My Joann's store carries it.

I also love my ATG gun. I always ran out of Mono and made a ton of cards before I had to change my roll in my ATG. Haven't tried the mono multi. Does it take a long time to dry? I like the super (and I mean SUPER) stickiness of the ATG, well worth the initial $ for the gun.
God bless.
ATG!!!!! THE BEST STUFF EVER! I GAVE UP ON GLUE STICKS, SNAILS, DOUBLE STICK TAPE, TACKY GLUE, MONO, EVERYTHING ELSE YOU NAME IT. THE ATG GIVES IT A CLEAN LOOK. YOUR PAPER DOESN'T WARP FROM MOISTURE. AND IT'S GOOD ON VELLUM TOO.

I only use the Creative Memories tape runner!!! It is awesome!

Scotch Quick Dry Tacky Adhesive is what I use. I think it's awesome and have it stockpiled. I started using it back in October and I'm still using the first bottle I bought. A little goes a long way!
