HAS ANYONE EVER USED REAL SAND (LIKE THE KIND AT THE BEACH OR KIDS SAND BOXES) ON A CARD OR SCRAPBOOK PAGE? IF SO CAN YOU SHARE A PICTURE AND THE WAY THAT YOU SECURED IT TO THE PAPER???? I THINK IT WOULD LOOK SO COOL WITH THE NEW CRAB AND CO. STAMP SET. THANKS A MILLION PM ME AT [email protected] JEANNINE

Here's one I made last summer with real sand:
Hello From the Beach
I believe I just used the Zig Two-Way glue pen for this one. I haven't sent it to anyone yet & the sand seems to still be sticking just fine.

My dh suggested using real sand on a card I made with Crab & Co, but I decided it would be too messy. So I used sand paper instead!! Same look without any mess.

I used sandpaper too. If you use the really coarse grade stuff like 60 grit or so, it looks really good

Here's the card I made for VSN:

I used sand paper too - just don't use your paper trimmer to cut it (ruined a blade that way - lol!)

Use sand from craft store and not the beach! The sand from the beach is filled with micro-organisms that could damage your finished project (and potentially stink!). Craft sand is really fine and adheres more easily, too. Plus, it's not very "green" to use real beach sand for crafts. I live in CA, can you tell?

Default sand

I used rubber cement to secure black, coarse sand to a vacation page and it's working well. I think it looks really cool!

Here's a Scrapbooking show from DIY that talked about using real sand on a page: http://tinyurl.com/3abzll

I'm thinking you could probably use Crystal Effects too. Love the real sand look... the sand paper wasn't as convincing IMHO.

In a Pre-K class I was subbing in they "painted" with kool-aid and when it dries it looks like sand. No idea about lasting power but it was neat because it also smelled good.

Here is a card that I used real sand on. I used the sticky embossing powder...It really worked good to adhere it to the card....
