If anyone doesn't know, you can sprinkle salt onto wet wet with color) watercolor paper and it does fantastic things to the color. Always a different outcome. Try it with coarse salt. The salt absorbs the wet color. When dry brush the salt off the paper.
Yes you need a damp sponge to either move watercolor around with a light touch or lift with firmer rubbing action. Forgot to mention earlier that you can cut the sponge up into smaller easier to use pieces too.
I am having a MoJo slump. Mother's Day is always a sad day for me. I get all bluesy leading up to it. Boy, I am depressing. Sorry girls. I hope your Mother's Day is the best day ever and you get spoiled lots and new crafting goodies.
I took a break from coloring & crafting. I have been studying nail art. I am getting back in the mood to paint. I have some projects planned.
Lindsay- I watched your video yesterday. I loved it. Made my mojo come back. I love lilacs. I love them so much it's part of my user name, lol. I was going to paint lilacs today I got involved playing Spyro- Dawn of the Dragon. I guess I should have painted Spyro holding lilacs while I let my DH kill the bad guys. That's a good idea I think I will do that when I set down to play Spyro again.

thanks, glad it was helpful now, get out those paints!
Another medium I like watercoloring with is Versamagic chalk inks - I tap the small pads on an acrylic block and pick up the color with my waterbrush. Really nice coverage and soft colors.
An-n-n-nd I have Twinks and Shimmerz, too. Hoping to try the Shinhan tube watercolors soon!!
Hey, I found another use for my watercolors yesterday: Making "distress Stains"! I got a set of 12 dauber top bingo bottles from oriental trading company for $7 and filled them with water and watercolor paint. I made this card:

I just spent a couple very enjoyable hours reading this whole thread. I didn't watch any of the linked videos, but checked out all the samples and images.
REALLY enjoyed it!!! I'm at the shore with a scrapbook project, but this will definitely be referred back to when I get home and dig out my WC pencils (Derwent and Inktense), my SU watercolor crayons, and my Twinks! Water oblong images is usually my favorite way to color.
What's everyone up to? I have been and will be out of comission for a little while but was wondering what everyone else was up to??
InkinOne- I hope everything is ok and your not ill. Sending you hugs.
It's too hot to craft, paint, think. I have a whole slew of craft projects planned, hopefully next week. I will be painting a lot using my watercolors and acrylics. One of the reasons I am not painting now. Have you ever painted with acrylics in humidity and oppressive heat? Don't do it, lol!

Thanks DeeAnn! I had to have an emergency galbladder removal on Fathers Day (HA!) and am still kinda recovering from that..I thought it would be a breeze but I guess not. Couple that with already MIA Mojo and you have yourself a big problem LOL..I should be up an at it in a another week or so...hopefully
InkinOne- Gentle hugs and wishes for a quick recovery. My DH had gallbladder surgery when he was a teenager. It took months for him to recover. My heart goes out to you. MoJo would leave for any kind of surgery. :(
Thanks DeeAnn! This has been kinda slow..LOL My mojo was on its way out the door( Probably because I had been ill for a while ), and now it is GONE. I am trying some different stuff ( different types of stamps if you will) to see if I can't spark my creativity a little, but it doesn't appear to be doing much for me HA! I like to color, but that doesn't seem practical always so I am trying to branch out into more "papercrafting" using solid images which has always been difficult for me. We will see what happens...hopefully it will return soon..if not then , I will be on permenant vacation for a while. Summer is always hard for me with all the kids home and stuff to do..but it has never been like this. The last time I went through this I didn't do anything for about 8 years..NOTHING..no drawing..no coloring..nothing.I sure hope I am not going through that phase again..
So glad to be home and have my studio set up again!! I sat down and did some watercoloring last night and this morning with dye reinkers and played in the shadows with some WC pencils - it felt soooo good!
I used my new Inktense watercolor pencils that were recommended here. Great recommendation, too! A friend loaned me the stamp of the sailboats. What do you think?

You will have to scroll down a bit since I added some new stamps that I sell. They are new Art Impressions rubber stamps. There are 3 cards. Sorry, I hope it works this time. If it doesn't could some one please tell me how to upload a photo instead of thru a http link. Thanks so much.
Awfully quiet around here LOL..where is everyone? What are you lovelies up too? I am eyeball DEEP in soccer practice..JROTC practice..fall festivals..homework..band practices..a couple of comissions for local restaurants ( YEAH!!), volunteering at my 2nd graders school... umm what else??? Oh yeah cleaning and laundry LOL. LOVING the cooler fallish temps here in the beachy south too. Only have a couple more weeks that I will need to mow the lawn ( that, is a good thing ladies..it will fee up about 3 hours of my time )
I have been playing with the idea of a massive purge. I thought about a yard sale but I hate to haggle HAHA..so I am just going to donate it all to my dd's school and call it good. I have a TON of ( ugly) paper to get rid of..pre made cards ( what was I thinking all those years ago??)
Anyway...as you can see not a lot of stamping going on here but I do have holiday cards to think about so I am off to blog lurk for some inspiration...wish me luck!
I am crafting but not watercoloring. Last night I worked on making cell phone charms. I do hope to get lots of crafting and reading done this week. I have a normal week and it's not allowed to be abnormal week, lol.
All the boards are quiet by the looks of things. I wonder if everyone is trying to find work and if they can't too busy trying to make ends meet to spend time on the boards.

i love water color too.
If you like to re-work your paintings, go with acrylic paint. Acrylic is a 100% percent forgiving paint medium, whereas watercolors can be quite unforgiving. Acrylics have better coverage than watercolors, and they are also more opaque.
