I have it, and it is the only setter I used besides the good ol fashioned hammer. I like mine alot. I do sometimes have to punch it a couple times to get the hole punched, and punch it a couple times to get the eyelet in, but it is such an improvement from the hammer. It is not completely quiet, but it is a quick strong noise.
It also comes with attachments that let you punch different kinds of holes like a button hole, and you can get attachments to make impressions in metal sheets also sold by Karen Foster.
I found the pacakging cumbersome, so I removed the tool and the attachments I use the most and the sturdy under pad and put them in my commonly used tools basket.
I didn't pay full price for mine, and I don't know if it is worth the 42.00 in the catalog, perhaps if you bought it as a half price item or if you got it somewhere using a 40% coupon like at one of our favorite craft stores.
PM me if you have any other questions.

I have the Silent Setter by Provo Craft and love it. I seem to be in the minority over on Two Peas though... I find it easy to use and like that it has the three sizes and eyelets right there in the travel case. I've seen people post that it takes too much "muscle" to set the eyelets but I haven't found that at all...
I really like the Provocraft Silent Setter as well. It doesn't work on MM eyelets, but I think it's great on the softer aluminum eyelets (provocraft, SU, etc). I really don't even feel that it takes that much muscle - and it's COMPLETELY silent.
I have the Karen Foster Click it. I love it. I got it 40% off at the craft store and would totally recommend obtaining one that way.
Read all the instructions. Play with the torque a little (how hard it punches). Yes, sometimes you click more than once, but I do like it a lot. A hammer and punch just did not seem that appealing to me.
I have not tried the Crop-a-dile or the "Better Setter". Those two are popular, but I can't compare them to the Click it.
I have the Crop-A-Dile and I LOVE it . . . no more hammers for me! I also LOVE that I can punch holes in chipboard, leather, metal. laminate etc. It's really been great for me.
I have a Silent Setter. It is very easy to use for SU and other soft eyelets, but it requires a lot of torque/effort to set harder aluminum eyelets like the ones from MM. I had a lot of MM eyelets before finding out the SU ones were so much softer. If you want to be able to set MM ones without a lot of effort, I would not purchase the silent setter.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Crop-A-Dile! It is hands down the BEST eyelet setter! I have probably all other setters and this one will be the last one I buy! It sets all sizes, shapes and even BRASS with ease! It was the best $26 I spent.
I've got the PC Silent Setter, and love it! I have all of the others too, but never use them. The Click-it is NOT quiet, FYI. I still woke my husband up with it! Silent Setter is no noise.
I love my Silent Setter. The MM eyelets do take a little more effort but they can be done with the Silent Setter. Sometimes I just take a hammer to the back side of the MM eyelets and give a couple of soft (quiet) taps to finish it up.

I have a Click it. That I got last year at a Stamp and Scrapbook show. At the time I was looking for something that I could use with mostly one hand. (I fell and broke my wrist last year right before I started with TAC. and could not use my hand or arm very good) My Kaylyn talked me into it and I have not turned back on it.
I really like it! for the reason that it is easy to use. But it does make a little bit of noise. I use it now for making holes for Brads,
If you want to do away with the setter completely, you can go to eyeletoutlet.com and order eyelets that are precut, and they open/flatten with the end of a pen. They even send you one of their pens in the package. Nice if kids are napping, or you are working at night.

It is an incredible, quality tool - punches through metal lunchboxes, frozen juice lids, bottlecaps, chipboard, CD's, oh and paper too...like buttah. punches holes (3/16" and 1/8") then sets the eyelet, snap - it even has a head for those MM eyelets that never set right with my hammer - the 'gator sets them perfectly.
If you use it to punch through CD's I have found if you heat the CD with a blow drier, heat tool or run under hot water then punch the CD will not flake...
Second choice: the good ole' hammer and Impress Rubber Stamp's (www.impressrubberstamps.com) eyelet setter is the best I have found - and I own and have used SU's setter and Making Memories' setters - Impress' setter is by far the best - and also the most expensive. I've used it for five or six years now and it sets as well as the day I purchased it.
WOW SOUNDS LIKE THE CROP-A-DILE MAY WIN HERE.wHERE CAN i SEE MORE ABOUT CROP A DILE.other than ebay.I want to see an add for this tool if anyone has one.what company sells thisa tool.looks like it will take up no space either.

here's a question about the crop a dile.since this is a handle tool.this also means that it CAN'T REACH the middle of a 12x12 or 8 1/2 x 11 page.if you want to place and eyelet in the center of the page.that's a delema for me anyway.on the edges it will work.but not the center of a page.how long is the reah on this tool.I want to buy 1 eyelet tool that can do everything for me.This sounds nice.but I would still have to use my old hammer for the part that it can't reach inside a bigger page.

Since I usually stamp late at night when everyone else is in bed, I didn't like setting my eyelets with the old hammer and setter so I bought the Provocraft Silent Setter and LOVE IT! and highly recommend it. The kit has 3 different sizes, and a mat so it is all together in one neat package. Now if they can only mike a Silent Heat Gun...
I just got a Cropadile and think it is going to be great. Finally you can put in a fancy eyelet without it coming all scrunched up! I used my 40% coupon at Mike's which helped a lot! No more waking up my DH in the middle of the night with hammering!
I have different ones but my favorite is my PC Silent Setter. The trick for me is to sit on my chair, put the setting pad on the floor, and use my setter from there. I just put my weight on it and had no problem with setting the eyelet. no alot of muscle used. I find the crop-a-dile very limited. You just can't put an eyelet anywhere you want b/c it only goes back so far. I think it's very limited on where you can put your eyelet location.
Another good eyelet setter that makes NO noise is the HomePro LR (Long Reach) setter. This is the one to use if you are making a lot of cards because it takes virtually no effort.
I think I've tried just about all of the setters. (Except the MM Silent Setter.)

I have the Crop-a-dile and the Silent Setter. I use both both more the Crop-a-dile because you dont have to change setters, etc. the Crop-a-dile you just turn the dile and you have your setter. I loved using the HomePro because it's so heavy duty...but it is soooo heavy to lug around if you take it to stamp camp or demo...probably great to have at home since it is really heavy duty!
But for now I use my Click it! and I do like a lot and use a lot too.
I like it becaue it has many differnt attachements, and wood contanier that I store all the attachements in.
I mostly use it for punching tiny holes for the Brads that I use on my cards.
No it's not slient, But it works great for me.
I really like the Provocraft Silent Setter as well. It doesn't work on MM eyelets, but I think it's great on the softer aluminum eyelets (provocraft, SU, etc). I really don't even feel that it takes that much muscle - and it's COMPLETELY silent.
I completely agree! this is a great setter..but you need to use it with the softer ALUMINUM eyelts...otherwise you'll start to get blisters! HA!
