MISTI is my vote also! It saved me so much time doing my Christmas cards this year - over 100! No need for a Stamp-a-ma-jig any longer, it's so easy to use with much less time. I highly recommend it!!
Thanks so much. I found some on Ebay and they are on their way already. I have the Big Shot magnetic plate, but I think I will like this long one.
I purchased mine when it was 1st released, has to be over 2-years ago now. The magnets in mine are temperamental. I have to fiddle with placement, but they work. The magnets aren't what makes it a great platform, in my opinion. I've used it 100's of times maybe a 1000 or more, and have never had to buy a new A or B plate! Can you imagine how much I've saved not having to constantly replace those acrylic plates! I use it in my Vagabond and Big Shot Pro. I just use the platform with the A or B plate. It will save you money.

I just checked this out on their website, and they actually mention that it's compatible with the Fuse! Do you know how hard it is normally to find out if something will work with the Fuse? lol! I think I might have to add the Genius to my wishlist, because I've really been wishing for a magnetic platform, particularly with my top plate warped so ridiculously. I have a spare but I'm holding off on using it for as long as I can.
Thanks for all the replies. I am looking forward to receiving mine. I think it was about half the cost of the sizzix plate I have now. More toys!!!! Yeah!!!

I guess I didn't buy any tools this year. So no vote from me. I've watched Misti videos, but I'm not seeing why it is so great. What am I missing?
I've never bothered with a stampinmajig, maybe that's why it isn't catching my interest. I not a big lover of tools. The envelope board doesn't get any use here or my score pal. Well SP on rare occasion.

In answer to your question, Jo: Nope! Just do this:
Put your card in the MISTI, butting it up to a corner
Set the uninked stamp on the card where you think you will want it
Close the MISTI so the stamp sticks to it
Open the MISTI and ink up the stamp
Close the MISTI to stamp the image/sentiment
If you're not confident in placement, you could do a "test run" on scrap paper or acetate (or the plastic from the SAMJ) and fiddle with the stamp until it's perfect, then stamp on your card.
So does this only work with unmounted or cling stamps? Our Internet is so slow I can't watch the video, so I'm in the dark on how this works. Thanks.
The MISTI is designed for stamps that will stick to the "lid" or "cover" (potato, potato), so wood blocks wouldn't work. Does that answer the question? I can absolutely, unequivocally tell you, though, that unmounting/never mounting my rubber stamps is one of the smartest things I've ever done! SO MUCH savings in space, storage items, etc., and SO MUCH easier to find and use! I won't trash-talk anyone who loves their wood mount and wants to keep them that way - different strokes and all - but I know it's made my life easier! ;)

I certainly can understand the reasons behind unmounted stamps, but I do love my wood mounts! Sounds like the MISTI would help me like my clear stamps ... because right now I don't like them .... at all!

Thanks for helping me understand the MISTI!
I still have wood mounted stamps, but have taken stamps that do not stamp well and all of my background stamps off the block. Jennifer has a video showing her taking the stamp off the block then returning it to the block, this works very well. Velum Photo Christmas Card
I'm going to jump in and say the best tool I bought was and is the best tool for 2015 is my "We R Making Memories Envelope Punch Board"... I use it every day and love the use of it and so easy. I love mine and I think it's the best tool I've every bought. :-)

You know, after you mentioning this tool I have to change mine. I think that the Envelope Punch Board is my #1 and the Spellbinder's all in one tool is #2. I love the versatility of the Envelope Punch Board and all the different things that I've made with it.
For me it is the Spellbinder "Tool in One "
That thing has save me hours of poking out little bits from intricate dies .
I lay the die on a piece of foam I got as packing material from something and roll the brush over the back . The little pieces fall out
It is a must have tool for me .
Barbara
Thanks for posting this! I know others have reviewed this product, but I'm another one who likes to hear feedback from "everyday stampers". I didn't give this tool much consideration before, but I've spent the day cutting each of my dies for an index, and now think that I NEED one! My tweezers and stylus (and my patience) have had quite a workout! Off to see if Joann's has one of these I can order (I have a gift card)!

Here's and alternative I saw yesterday on tube that uses dryer sheets. Tried it today and it actually did work. Just a suggestion, not trying to tell anyone what to buy or not buy.
I've ordered the MISTI and can't wait to get it. Barbara Jay, thank you for this post and mentioning the Spellbinders tool! I just watched a YouTube video and boy oh boy I had to have it! I just ordered the tool and foam combo : )
I think I bought my punch board in 2013. In fact I know I bought it either that year or before because it was when we were in our old house and we've been in this one for over a year.
lol I vowed when they came out that I wasn't going to waste my money on it, but this past spring/summer, I ran across videos that I saw a bunch of other things that I could do with the board and I LOVED the V notch. I used a 50% coup and pick it up for 10 bucks. I'm glad I did. I couldn't have gotten a new punch for 10 bucks. I love how I VOWED I wouldn't go down that path lol.
I am planning on getting the MISTI, but it has to wait after the first of the year. We're moving possibly the 1st Qtr of the year so the Misti will have to be on my list for next year. lol
Oh, and in regards to the Spellbinder's tool, I too didn't think much of it either,... that is, until I went to the scrapbook expo and did a couple of "Make and Take's" at the Spellbinder's store. I got to use the tool and I waited until it went on sale at Joann's recently (the only place around here that carried it) and grabbed it!! I love it.

I just saw this video too and I am going to try it tomorrow ! I was gone all day so I couldn't try it today.
Watching the die come out clean with out a single schnibble left in it looks almost too good to be true .

Hey, I've done it...it really works great! Also, I found fabric sheets at the Dollar Tree for $1 and there are 55 sheets....but they do have fragrance, which I don't mind.....just leave the die cut sitting out in the air for a bit and it tones it down!
I've got the Spellbinder's tool in one, but I would use this technique if I wanted to use the pattern, like the butterfly in the video. Those negative spots I imagine you could keep the pattern and transfer it onto something tacky. I think that would be kind'a cool if transferring would actually work. Thanks for sharing that. That was cool. All though I have the tool in one, there are some dies where there is no holes at all on the back to run the tool in one or a pocket over. I usually use a low tack painters tape, but I think I like this idea best.

Thanks for sharing the awesome video link, that is so super helpful. Wonderful idea/technique.
I've read all of the threads about the M.I.S.T.I. and I'm just wondering if any member bought it and then regretted the purchase. I like the fact that is you stamp a image and find parts are missing you can re-ink and stamp it again. I toss more paper out due to that problem. I have been thinking about investing in one but would like to see if any one had issues with it and wish they hadn't spent the money on it. I truly would appreciate feedback to my question. Thanks

I absolutely love it and have had no issues whatsoever! If I broke it, it was stolen or somehow lost, I would definitely have to buy another one....would not want to be w/o it!!!!

Could someone also please tell me if there is more than one place to purchase it?
Right now doing preorder from My Sweet Petunia is the only option. SSS had a few but are sold out and their price was $69.99. Iliana posted today they would not have anymore until she is caught up.

I just bit the bullet and ordered a MISTI! You people are such enablers, you know! ;). Of course it didn't take much to enable me. I can't wait for this to come, but I know it will be about six weeks before it arrives.

Trust me Sylvia....it WILL be well worth the wait!!!

Well I just ordered mine. When no one said they regretted buying the MISTI I took your advice as the best tool of 2014. I know this will help me when I stamp a image and ugh I didn't press quite firm enough and parts of the image are missing. I know I'm in for a long 6-8 week wait however something's in life are worth waiting for and this is one of them.
Does anyone else have the L Letterpress platform? I'm using that as a "MISTI" It has a grid on the hinged cover, and works pretty much the same, just not as wide as the MISTI (I don't think). I love it, and love any tool that does double duty!
POPPY!! OMG!!! You're a genius. I have been wanting an Misti, but really didn't want to spend the money on it. I'm not an every single day stamper, although with encouragement, I could be. lol
I do have the Letterpress set up!! That's actually the first real die cutting /printing machine that I got. A lady had the epic with EVERYTHING including the letterpress set up for $50 on CL and I grabbed it. I even have LOADS of plates and don't really use it..... so shame on me!!
Since you've thrown this idea out there, I'm going to NOW, start by putting it out on my work table and I'm going to have to use it at least 1x a week through Jan-March. If I don't use it like the MISTI I'm going to have to do a letterpress. I've got plenty of plates to print off something as simple as a gift of thank you cards to give to my sister.
Thank you so much for putting that idea out there. It will give me the opportunity to try it like a MISTI and also make me use it for it's intended use too. I want to use it, so thanks to you, it's going to be a multipurpose tool!!!
I just couldn't get the Letterpress to double stamp as accurately as the Misti. It was hit & miss. The top plate wiggles just enough to prevent a clean double stamp. I'm thinking it's because there are only two hinges. I love the size, foam padding, and being able to use magnets with the Misti.

denverkat, I believe you got the best deal in the history of crafting! omg! I only got my L Letterpress Kit a little while back on a super deal at Blitsy, and have done some really nice letterpress pieces with the script plates that came with it (I'm going to post a card in the gallery today that uses one).
Let's letterpress challenge each other! I plan to start using it a lot more, and hopefully add some plates as well. Once I get that sticky ink all smoothed out on the plate, I start letter-pressing everything to use it up and it becomes a bigger project than I hoped for LOL but it is an amazing tool that we definitely need to use.
And back to the original thread: it's also a great substitute MISTI, so I nominate the L Letterpress Platform as an amazing tool of the last few years Gutenberg never dreamed of a printing press at home!

Without a doubt, it is an extremely well-designed tool that we will all probably try to find substitutes for until we bite the bullet and just buy one
