What kind of white cardstock can I use for 1 layer CAS and still use tombow and copic? Where can I get the cardstock from? I have been using inkjet 200gsm paper but the colour will show through on the other side if I use dark colours.
I'm no expert, but since no one posted yet, i'll give my 2 cent
I think Papertry Ink Cardstock will be great coz its heavier than the regular ones. donno if others agree with me.
If you're in a pinch and can't wait for an order to come in the mail, check the art store for Manga Fanboy paper. It's 150lb and it's designed for copics so it should stand up to tombows no problem. I picked up a couple pads at Michaels on sale and I love it. (It retails for $10 per pad, but I picked mine up for abotu $3 each) I think dickblick sells it on their site too.
I'm not sure if you have a paper distributor in your area that carries Domtar papers. Domtar Cougar super smooth bright white 130# is the best I've found for single layer cards hands down. Its super thick, blends beautifully with copic markers, and absolutely no bleed through or shadowing on the back.
Gina K 120# works for one layer cards using Copic's. I have tried SU but I have found that it bleeds through. Papertrey also works but not as well as Gina K in my opinion.
I think Gina K makes more than 1 type of CS-which one is the right one to get for one layer cards using Copics?
If you want one layer cards, get the Gina K Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight White - that is 120# and it is amazing. Super, super smooth, nice and thick, still scores well (Scores the best with a bone folder or score board though) and you won't get copic bleed through.
For copic layers - get the Gina K Pure Luxury Layering Weight - that is 80#. Still super smooth but thinner so you can layer a card without making it so heavy.
ALL of her color cardstock is really nice as well.
Ditto for Gina K's cardstock. I won't use anything else for my card bases. The 120# is perfect for OLC's using Copics - absolutely no strike through even with heavy coloring!
Another vote for Gina K's pure Luxury 120#. I buy several packs at a time!! Great for card bases that have a bit more embellishments on them too.....holds up better than 80# cardstock. And NO bleed thru with copics!
