Not to make us "Gotta Have It All" sufferers feel worse, but look at this link. Anyone up for a trip to Japan?!!!
LMBO! HA! I love this! Ya'll have NO IDEA how excited I was to walk into this store! I decided I was going to look at the entire store and just stumble upon the Copics when I got to them versus asking where they were...so I'm looking around looking around, awesome stuff adn then BAM! I almost went down to my knees, lol! This store is awesome and I'm SO glad I found it! If anyone comes to Oki for markers, lemme know, I'll take ya there;)

Dude! I totally know how you felt when you walked into that store!!! You felt the same way I felt when I saw that flippin' picture on your blog!!!! My heart skipped a beat. I am soooo jealous that you are in such close vicinity to the volume of Copics that this place holds. I think I would pitch a tent and live there . . . no joke. I want to be you. Well, I guess I'll just be happy to live vicariously through you. Lucky duck! Thanks for sharing Amber!
Oh my, I wish I could frame the pictures you have of the Copic displays and hang them in my craft room. They are Be-U-tif-ful! Forget DisneyWorld, I want to go to Copic-World!
Is this thread the closest thing to a Copic Forum, or is there a group somewhere else?
I just noticed that Dick Blick is carrying the airbrushes for Copics. I'm still working my way through the tutorials on the I Like Markers blog; so that purchase is sometime in the future.

If you are looking for stores across the US/Canada for Copics you can try this dealer locater. Unfortunately it really works best for art stores, not as much LSS, though this is still a good place to start.
They look like they might be on sale or something right now
Call before you go... I was very sad when the one I went to didn't have any Copics at all. I thought all Jerry's stores carried the same basic supplies - a 45 min drive (one way) proved me wrong!

Does anyone out there know if there are Copic markers to match the following colors:

Ruby Red?
Bravo Burgundy?
Bordering Blue?
Perfect Plum?
Pink Passion?
Pixie Pink?

For anyone near a Dick Blick... go to the store locator on the website, and when you pull up a store, you will see a link to click to sign up to get a newsletter (i.e., coupons for the stores that don't work for internet purchases). The email coupons ROCK in that you can print out multiples and then bring your hubby and use 2, or go on multiple days. They have 30% off ones every now and then, and had a 40% off for 3 days right before Christmas that brought the markers to $3.49/each even with the egregious Cook County tax. When I used my 40% off coupon, they gave me a 20% off total purchase hard copy coupon good thru 12/31, but I am waiting for another 30%...
Re what they have in person, I work right by the Chicago Loop store and the Lincoln Park store is also close to me. They both have great assortments (defined as all of the sketch, wide, and original individual markers) and are very rarely out of a particular color. The Lincoln Park store carries the multiliners, nibs, etc. but the Loop store does not.
The 10% discount card is free for teachers and students, and is $10/year otherwise, but does not work on top of a coupon. If anyone wants to shop at the two stores that are by me and wants to use the 10% off card, I have one and we could try to meet up if that's helpful.
Also, note that Dick Blick has a custom 24-marker set that has some quite nice and useful colors for someone starting out. It's called the manga set. I got it on special for $99 with a 30% coupon. It's not $99 now, but I wonder if it will be again.
I love Dick Blick! They have all the good colors that Hobby Lobby doesn't, and being able to use a coupon off of the already discounted price is excellent.
I get mine at www.oozak.com. They have SUPER FAST shipping and FREE shipping with a $50 order, which is easy to do with copics. Best prices I have seen so far.
I get the Caios because they are the cheapest and then if I "need' a special color not available in the Caio, I get the Sketch. Having 2 types does not bother me.
Sometimes Oozak is Out of Stock with a lot of colors but their prices make it worthwhile for me to keep checking for them to get in more. They are worth the wait!:-D
