You've all managed to get me obsessed with the mailboxes!!! I've been twice now in two weeks to the closest Target (90 minutes away) with no luck. Sigh - I need to stop getting "good" ideas!!!
Fortunately, I didn't have to 'hide' mine. I didn't want DH there when I bought them, but when I got home, DH said "Did you find anything good today?" (I've been to Target for 3 days in a row for discounted Christmas stuff!) I said, "I'll show you, but you have to promise not to laugh..." I just took ONE out and showed him. He got an odd look on his face and said "What in the world are you going to do with that?! It's not even big enough to hold mail!"
I showed him the gallery here of them altered and told him they can be used for a variety of gift opportunities....and they were ONLY $1.00! He said, "Oh, you're going to decorate them...Yeah, that would work for gift cards and stuff...good deal, too!"
Yes, he puts up with me quite nicely! LOL
Now all I have to do is clean my stamp room from the 'storage' it became during the holidays. When I have a clear table, I just may tackle one of them boxes! Maybe tomorrow...???
We just got a new Super Target about a 1/2 mile from our house! That's dangerous! Especially when there's a Starbucks right in there, too!
Sounds to me like you've got your hubby well trained! lol Mine is too.....doesn't even question me at all.....he just KNOWS that I'll do SOMETHING with whatever I bring home.....eventually! lol
MY DH is the anti-clutter peson, he is so organized and efficient with space that the EVENTUALLY part kills him. The stamp room is like a battlefield that he is scared to step on, now that there are these cute little mailboxes in it all over the place, that she further keep him out.
I have just finished reading all the posts about these little cuties! I am so envious that you have easy access to them over there as of course we don't have them here and I haven't even seen anything similar to them!
The decorated ones in the gallery are just gorgeous!! I am going to ask someone if they could possibly buy a few for me and send them over.
After seeing all the gorgeous mailboxes on SCS I knew I had to stop at Target on my next trip south of the border! I managed to stop at a Target when I had to drive to Seattle to drop family off at the airport. They actually had some of the mailboxes and I managed to get 5 white ones and I was so excited. So when I had to go back to Seattle and pick up my family from the airport, I planned a day of it (they didn't arrive till like 9pm and it's a 3 hour drive to Seattle) and went online and mapped out ALL the Targets between Bellingham & Seattle! There are 7 Targets between me & Seattle and I went to all 7 of them on my way to Seattle and my only goal was mailboxes! I only found mailboxes at 2 of them and I managed to get 10 mailboxes which made me happy. I am planning on doing a handful of them up for valentine's gifts for my girlfriends and the rest will be for various other occasions during the year. I was really happy that I found out about them here on SCS as we don't have Target here in Canada and I wouldn't have gone to all those Targets if I didn't have something I was looking for!
I'm doing a Stampin' Up class on the mailboxes on the 22nd March. Yipppeeeee. Karen has managed to get some from the US. So excited.

I had 6 left over from last year, and I just had to make a trip to Target and there they were just saying buy me! My local target had tons of them. I just had to buy six.
I just had to go into target and there they were,just saying buy me. I still have some from last year. Well i walked out with 6. They had tons of them at our super target,i was rally surprised, my friend who doesn't stamp bought 6 also.
I just want to apologize to all the Utah Gals. After reading this post I am feeling a bit guilty...I have bought 30 or so of these cuties....from 4 different Targets on 4 different occasions. I left PLENTY, and they had tons in stock I was told. Last year I went all over looking for some...even just 1...to no avail, so this year I decided to stock up and went a little crazy when I saw them! I am donating them to my DD's Special Needs Class. I am hoarding a few for myself too, but that's another story.....

Now, see what you all did? Now I HAVE to go back to Target tomorrow! I only bought three when I saw them the first time but now I'm thinking "hmm, I could make them into baby shower gifts for the shower I'm throwing at the end of the month and put a business teaser in there since I just became a demo".
You ladies are not right,:rolleyes: . There is no Target here in Japan and it is just not fair that you say you bought all of these mailboxes. I cannot wait for us to get back to the states so I can get good deals like that again
Anyhow, you ladies enjoy it while you can, because when I do get back to the states I will buy all of the $ 1 deals I can get my hands on:lol: :lol:

this really bites! I just went to check ot the gallery and I have seen these before but never really knew what they were...always they were adorable...but now! I have small tins and the large tins now I want these ones and I'm not able to get them :(
My cousin worked for Zellers and apparently there is a rumour that Target is trying to take over and buy out Zellers...can't see it happening anytime soon but I can only hope!
I see The Oriental Trading Company has simular ones.

I'm outta luck...I don't know anywhere that caries them. I checked out Oriental Trading...but the shipping would kill me...so In the mean time I'll just admire everyone elses
