101 Days of Summer: DRIVE IN at the DRIVE IN (101DOSC)
101 Days of Summer: "Drive In" at the Drive In
It's Friday night and what better place to be on a SUMMER Friday Night than the Drive In! We actually have a Drive In not too far from our house and we're THRILLED that it's opening for the Summer! We're off tomorrow night to see Disney's "UP" and "ESCAPE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN". My favorite part is stopping at the convenience store for snacks...what a choice!
My Challenge for you tonight is to include your (or family) favorite MOVIE into your page. You can use just the title or some pictures of some movie memoriabilia or even just add some movie favorites to your page (pictures of popcorn, big screens?) or include some tickets. It's your time to DRIVE IN at the 101 Days of SCS Scrappin' Summer and include a "reel" of FUN to your "MOVIE" page! HERE & HERE are my samples
When submitting for the VSBN challenge, please use the keyword 101DOSC,the deadline is Friday June 5. Remember to come back to this thread and post a reply with a link to your page.

What a fun challenge! I LOVE drive-in's! I read the challenge to DH and suggested we check into the one we went to a while ago (not sure if it's still there, we went before the hurricanes). I did this page like last year from when we were camping at Disney, the family saw National Treasure at the Chip 'N Dale campfire/movie. However, Dd1 had a sleepover and I forgot to take pics but I did get one w/ her friend and the movie they were watching so I think that will be the page I work on :-)
my ds will be sooooo jealous of your seeing "UP". He made us write it down that it was coming to theaters! And Wisconsin sadly has I believe only 1 working drive-in left in the whole state.

It came out tonight. It was my Mother's Day Present from my youngest DS. He of course wouldn't "choose" to see it but I've been wanting to see it so he said he would go with me. The Drive In just makes it much BETTER for both of us!

WOW - I can't even remember the last time I went to a Drive-In movie. Where I lived up until 6 years ago, in Perth, Western Australia, I think there was only one Drive-In theatre still operating for the whole of the state!!!!!! I could be wrong on that - there may have been a couple in country areas - but I'm sure there was only one for the entire Metro area. I think there's a few more in Melbourne, where I live now - but I haven't been to one here. Might have to change that - I'd love Maggie to have that experience ................ getting snacks that cost a fortune ..................... taking the pillow along ................ getting excited at the first movie and waiting for the main feature .................. then falling asleep before it starts - LOL!!!!!
Now, how to scrap a page for this ..................... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Oh wow. I haven't been to a drive-in in years! I would love to be able to take the kids to one.
Isn't that funny....I think they're gone in Michigan too but when we moved here to Ohio not long ago, I couldn't believe there still was a Drive In. It's out in the middle of farm/corn fields! but only about 15 minutes from us. Always fun and about the same to go there as the regular theater.
It will be fun to see both of the shows tomorrow night :p

Oh, me too, me too!!!! And The Shaggy Dog ................. I remember that very well, because my Dad took me when I was little when my Mum was in hospital. WOW, the memories .....................

My first drive-in was when we were visiting my grandmother in San Bernadino, CA. It was a Disney double feature with (the original) Herbie the Love Bug and ? something with a football kicking mule? It was July 1976 and I was ten (we were probably the only Philadelphian's not in Philly for the Bicentennial!)

I had a bad experience related to a drive-in. After I dropped all of my friends off at their homes, I headed home to my parents. I was 16. The car started to sputter and stall. My parents live 20 min down a rural highway with no streetlights and very little traffic after 12:00. I started the car again and drove down a driveway. Car died again. Big dog barking on the step. Decided to just leave. Car wouldn't start at all. Nothing. No heat, no radio. After about an hour I decided to honk in the hopes that someone would come out of the house. Nope. My parents had called my friends when I didn't show up over an hour after the movie. They had all my friends and the cops out looking for me. There was only one way home from my last friend's house and my car was not there. Unfortunately, big hay bales blocked the view of my car from the road. AT 4:00am the lady who lives there came home from her job. She was not happy or nice. She let me use the phone then made me wait in the car. I was wearing shorts and had pulled the seat cover off to stay warm. Anyway, my parents came to get me and we were all in tears. My friends were releived. They had been looking in ditches for my body and even went to the dump to look. There was no explanation for the dissappearance of my car. After that, I had to call my parents before I left a friend's then call my friend when I got home. Now that I am a parent I can imagine what my parents were going through for 3 hours. I'd be a wreck. Sorry I'm rambling.

That would be AWFUL! My DH and I were talking today...imagine life prior to cell phones! This would be one of those instances that a cell would have helped you out ALOT! Thank goodness you were ok!
