Hello Ladies. As Lela has already said VSBN is all about "Reality" Shows. For those of you who are interested in helping us host, I have come up with a list of some of the Reality shows out there.

LELA!!! DO WE REALLY HAVE 35 DAYS THIS MONTH?!!! LOL (sorry...see post #1...I'm so bad about pointing out people's "oops" moments!)
Anyway, I'm so glad that I read Crystal's list...until near the very bottom of her list, I hadn't watched ANY of the shows mentioned! Can you believe it!!! I have, however, seen Super Nanny once or twice when dh wasn't around! I'm not much of a TV watcher and he absolutely HATES reality shows!
I really enjoyed hosting during the last VSBN, but not sure I can come up with any ideas here! Oh I have watched that wife swapping show a few times too. Is that a reality show? Not reality in MY life! Think I'll stick with the dh that I have!!!

AAARRRRRRG!!! Why is VSBN ALWAYS on the weekends I have dgs! (just counted forward!) He's one of those all too common every other weekend kids! So I have to take advantage of the weekends he's around! And THAT is reality! He isn't here the entire weekend tho...I have to share him with his daddy! I'll still be able to get some scrappin in!

If you want to check out the show it's on Friday nights at 8PM EST on NBC. It's one of those seasonal shows and there are only three left.

Don't worry if you have never watched reality shows. Just pick one of the titles and base a challenge from that ie. Chopped could be a cropping challenge or 18 ANd Counting could be a challenge to fit 18 items on a dps. I don't watch many of the shows and they are typically far from reality but their titles and some of their themes might inspire some fun challenges.

Here's another suggestion, especially for those that don't watch much television...the new show Who Do You Think You Are? is all about researching a part of your family history...great vintage/heritage page idea. If you want to check out the show it's on Friday nights at 8PM EST on NBC. It's one of those seasonal shows and there are only three left.
That is a very good show and I never even thought of it. I only saw it once but it is a very good idea for a heritage page.

Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday.
I will try to give a brief account of what each show is basically about.
So You Think You Can Dance- competitors from around the country compete in different genres (sp?) of dance and each week someone gets eliminated.
Biggest Loser-people who want to lose weight train workout with trainers while staying at a "ranch" away from family. They compete in challenges for rewards and immunity. The final show reveals all competitors with before and after pics.
Survivor- people compete first in teams then as individuals in crazy and sometimes disgusting challenges while trying to survive on rice and whatever they can find in the remote area that they are. Players vote each other off with veiwers choosing a winner in the end.
Amazing Race(my fave)- Teams of two race around the world and complete challenges to try to be the first to the final destination. Last team at each leg of the race ususally gets eliminated.
Canada's Worst Driver- People nominate friends and family who are bad drivers to go to a driver rehab school where they do different tasks involving controled skids, backing up and parallel parking. It's much better than it sounds. The cars usually get damaged.
Bachelor/ Bachellorette- A guy or girl gets to date many women/men who all live in the same house together. Each week someone gest sent home. I believe there is a proposal at the end. (I don't watch this one)
Chopped- chefs are given challenges based on a style of cooking or ingredient etc and must cook for a panel of judges. There food is critiqued and then they are eliminated.
That's all I'll do tonight. I'll write up some more tomorrow. Have a great Easter weekend everyone.

Received your PM. Love your idea. Can't wait for VSBN weekend but we still need more hostesses. I know we have some talented scrappers out there. You don't have to be a fan of Reality shows. You can base the challenge strictly on the name of the show.

Here are a few more brief descriptions of some reality shows but remember, the challenge doesn't have to be based on the show. You could get inspiration from the name of the show and come up with a challenge based on that.
Project Runway- designers create clothing based on challenges
Dancing With the Stars- celebrities partner with proffesional dancers and attempt various ballroom dances
American Idol- young singers from across the country sing songs from different bands and genres
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition- deserving family gets a new home based on there specific needs and desires
Jon and Kate Plus 8 (or whatever they call it now)- show follows a couple with a set of twins and sextuplets through their everyday lives
18 and Counting- follows the daily life of a family with 18 children
Cake Boss- company desins outrages, customized cakes based on specific requests by customers
The Apprentice- people who want to work for Donald Trump complete tasks as a team later as individuals and try to not get "Fired".
Hope this helps. Looking forward to seeing what everyone can come up with. I am sure there are many more shows that I haven't even thought of.

We are looking at the final challenge on Sunday being at 7:00pm. Still waiting to finalize the schedule but that is what we are hoping for. Hope you can host or at least join in some of the scrapping fun.

Helo Ladies. Here is a tenative schedule for VSBN. I will update which time slots are taken as we fill them. I will also create a list of shows that have been spoken for.
Okay ladies, we have a few volunteers for VSBN challenge hostesses. They have some great ideas but we could always use more. Here is a list of some of the shows they have chosen to use for their challenges.

We have filled all of our hostess spots. I am amazed at how we were able to do it with such short notice thanks to all of our volunteers. It's going to be a great VSBN. Hope to see everyone there.

I too would love to join but my Mom is here and we hang out with my DD that is 6. the only reality show that I like is Deadlist Catch. Yeah I know but Captin Sig is a cutie, and Norweign.
Be sure you check in to see all the INCREDIBLE challenges...very exciting! Even if you can't participate during the weekend sometime come back next week to play on your own :-)
