WT125 - A Noteworthy Challenge
Sorry for the delay this morning...a rainy summer morning with 5 kids tends to get a bit off track! LOL
Today the challenge is a noteworthy one! We're going back to redo the Journals and Notebooks challenge from
WT46 , way back in February 2006. This is perfect time of year for working on notebooks and journals! Great for back to school or just perfect to get working ahead on some Christmas gifts, my challenge to you today is to alter a journal or notepad or composition book. Have fun with it! I hope you accept my challenge! IIt is always great to jump out of your comfort zone and try a little something different for a change! No rules, no regulations, no contests and no time limits. Just get to it and have some fun!
Please remember to put WT125 in your keywords section and post a link back here so that we can all see your work. You may link one previously created journal if you wish...so long as you make a NEW one as well for THIS challenge!
When you are uploading, please also upload to the Journal Gift section of the gallery to help out our moderators!
My Sample:
Flourishes Friend Journal

Thanks for playing along! Have a fabulous day!

Wonderful! I've been wanting to make a gratitude journal since Shelli mentioned it at convention. Just wish I had a pack of paper that I love...should've ordered some!

I found this great tutorial a while ago by Stampaholic on how to alter a composition book.
Forums at Splitcoaststampers
I used the basic idea to do a spiral bound one, but I used Julie Brooks technique to use a piece of paper from the spiral notebook as a template, punch the holes, then cut a slit from the hole to the edge of the paper. Then you can slip your paper over the spiral binding rather than remove the cover.

tutorial?
There is a tip in WT46 (thank you DawnL) that you can cut your cover to the size of the journal, tear out a page to use as a template to punch the holes for the coil (if it has a coil) and simply snip from the holes to the edge so that it easily slips back on... That's a great tip for me as I usually try to remove the whole coil and due to the hazards of my cat and kids, I've lost more than one!!
Thanks for the challenge Julia, I hope to get one done this afternoon :-D

Oh, what a fun challenge. There was a plain notebook staring me right in the face as I read the instructions, ha ! It got a nice face lift with some Cute Pie designer paper. I was going to use Garden Whisy to dress it up but ended up using no stamps or ink, gasp ! I really needed to stock up on some 3D projects for my holiday open house so this was perfect timing
