WT84 - Stencils
This Way's to Use it Challenge comes as a request from momtooandz. She has challenged us to find ways to use
stencils in our work. SU used to sell plastic stencils such as the cloud template and other scrapbooking style stencils and I know I have LOTS from my scrapbooking days. A few ideas off the top of my head to start you off...use them to mask shapes right on the paper and sponge with ink or chalk, maybe even the spritzer. You can also use them for dry embossing, cutting out a monogram...if you can, think up some more...be creative!
If you do not have plastic stencils, you are still welcome to play along with dry embossing stencils or make your own from a piece of acetate or cardstock. Join in and have some fun and stretch your creativity.
Please remember to put WT84 in your keywords sectiona nd post a link back here so that we can all see your work.
Here is an idea from my gallery. I used a plastic stencil to cut a shape out of printer paper to make a mask for the blocked collage technique. I know it is not too recent, but...c'est la vie.
(I'm really practicing my French;))
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Hopefully I will find some time to make something later. This has been a very crazy week. We still have the French exchange student. She is here until Saturday, so I expect next week will be better...one can always hope!
Have fun and happy stamping,

With all the people stalking it's hard to believe that I am first. Cool challenge, I look forward to finding some time to try it.
Thanks

Cool challenge Julia. I'll have to wait until after work and soccer practice tonight to play. My light table could use a good dusting.

Your sample from your gallery is GORGEOUS!! I haven't seen anything you make that isn't. You're my inspiration Julia. By the way, where do I find the blocked collage technique?

The blocked collage technique is a beautiful one. Showmestamper posted it as a technique challenge late last fall and I loved it immediately. here is the link to the technique challenge and the instructions...

Shabby Princess
I ended up being late for work trying to get this one right. Luckily I own the store and no one was waiting at the door!
This is my
SHABBY PRINCESS DRESS - what else could a glittery, embossed pink dress be when it's combined with walnut stain and distressed edges?

Don't have a single stencil left from the days when I used to stencil everything, so I made do with embossing templates.
Fun challenge, Julia. Thanks!

Great challenge idea, Julia--combined this with the SC and used a brass stencil to cut out the design.

Thanks for another fun challenge, Julia. Mine is not that creative, but I didn't have alot to work with. I am going to have to get some more stencils. But anyway, I had fun doing it. Here's mine:

Heres another one. I am not very good at taking pictures with the digital camera. This one looks a little to dark for me, but it was the best of about 8 pics so I just went with it. TFL
