OK, I'm going to try this, but I'll have to do it over the weekend -- and learn how to post -- oy! I think this is a great challenge, and thanks for filling in, and I will add my prayers for Julia's mom, and thanks to you for filling and keeping us all occupied!
Great challenge today and thanks for stepping in and helping out Julia. I hadn't used my cheesecloth background yet so this was a great incentive to do so. Here's my version of today's challenge. TFL
When I first started stamping I just didn't like my cards because they seemed so "flat". Jeanne S. advised me to use more BG's and wahla!!! It helps sooooo much to add that little something to my cards!!
Hope to play later (got to take care of some lighter colored strands of hair first this morning! )
Keeping Julia and her family in my thoughts today!!
I went ahead and made a quick one while the boys eat breakfast. I think I shoudl of waited. I don't care for how it turned out. Guess that is what I get for rushing. Here is mine:
I just borrowed this background from my friend yesterday...and she hadn't even mounted it yet! I don't see it used much so I wanted to play with it for awhile. I was even surprised some of my own stamps that I just HAD to have and mounted them last night! All stamps saw rubber for the first time!
I am new to these weekday challenges. The IC is one I have been doing for a while though. I've got all sorts of ideas roaming around in my head for this one! I hardly ever use my background stamps, so it's a good one for me! My new rule is NO STAMPING till I have cleaned one room in the house. I know I can't live without stamping, so I really hope this reward system helps me have a cleaner house. The plan is that you all will start seeing me on every challenge now! So, if you don't see me for a while, you know the house is a mess LOL.
Can't wait to get started on this--I am kind of new to BG stamps, but have found that I love them and need many more of them! THanks for the challenge and prayers and good wishes for Julia and family!
Here's mine. I haven't had my Floral stamp out for a while and decided to try some wacky colors with it...then I decided to tackle a larger, 5x7 card too.
Does this count? I created a background using one of the stamps in the DIL set. If not, this post can be removed. (I need to get better at reading these things all the way through!)
Sorry I haven't played in ages. I actually stamped today. I am all excited!!!!
I haven't done Burned Batik in FOREVER (since I wrote the tutorial) and thought I try my hand in it again.
Burned Blossom
I hardly stamp a card without background stamps. This was an easy challenge. I used Linen, one of my favorite backgrounds, on the marigold and caribbean strips.
I don't own many background stamps, so I improvised some. I hope that's OK. Thanks for letting me play this week. I look forward to playing again next week. TFL

OK, I'm gonna be all over this like a hobo on a hotdog as soon as my 2yr. old is down for his nap!
This will be my first official crack at participation in a challenge on SCS, so I want LOTS of feedback when I get my cards up for you all to critique!
thanks.

Wow, I don't know if I could live by that rule! Maybe if I just did that quick clean where you just kinda hide stuff!
