The basket is made from a sealed envelope that has been cut in half. I textured the envelope by laying it over the grid on my CM paper cutter and then rubbed over the envelope with a stylus to emboss in the grooves and form a basket shaped weave. I used a brown pencil to add shading and lines to resemble a wood grain on all of the basket pieces. The handle is made from a strip of matching paper long enough to fold and attach on both sides with a brads. (see just below the bow on the top basket band for brad placement) This allows for the handle to swing to the side. The apples are stamped on a card that lifts out. So basically the handle moves to the side and a cauliflower shaped apple card lifts out of the envelope! The large white stem portion of the cauliflower fits into the envelope and the upper portion is stamped with apples and then trimmed only around the top outside edges as shown in the picture.
For the apples start with a piece of white card stock approximately 5 ½ x 5 ½ (The apples are from a retired set called "apple of my eye") The apples were stamped only on the top portion of the card and the apples were only cut out at the top of the card. Cut around the top outside shape of the apples and leave a rectangle shape 4 ¼ x 2 ½ below the stamped apples. This rectangle portion of the card will fit perfectly in the envelope leaving the apples to appear overflowing in the basket. I left the extended portion of the card below the apples blank so that I could write a message on that part of the card. The blank bottom portion fits perfectly in the envelope and can be lifted out by the recipient. I also added a separate strip of paper for the top band of the basket and made it slightly longer with slightly rounded corners.

Could you please tell me how you did this? This is just so ADORABLE!!!!!! Is this a beige/brown envelope? How did you do the band at the top of the basket? Did you just cut it to look a little wider? Or did you actually fold the envelope over? Is there a template? I am one of those dummies who can't figure things out on my own. Would you please consider walking me through this one? I just love love love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have done such a wonderful beautiful job on this!!!

I found the brown bag colored envelopes at Jo Ann's. They came in a set with cards and envelopes. They had 2 sizes and I chose the smaller A6 size. I think I found the matching brown bag paper sold separetely at Michael's. The paper is nice and stiff so it made a good handle and band for the top of the basket. I am so dissapointed that the Farm Fresh set is retiring. I love the apple of my eye set but because it has retired I just bought the new Fresh Fruits set from the Spring mini to replace it. I was looking forward to demonstrating this sample for my workshops and now the Farm Fresh set is retiring.
