I was asked to make this box for a friend of a friend.
It was Tina's 'big 0' birthday and she and her partner have a stunning garden called 'Poppy Cottage Garden' in Truro, Cornwall, UK.
It was clear that poppies had to be the theme.
I made templates for the poppies, cut them out from heavy weight red paper and scored, then creased the petals. To finish - I dotted the centres with black holographic glitter. They were then mounted onto narrow acetate strips and attached to the box sides and centre.
The leaves were cut using a small daisy leaf die and tinted with VersaColor Evergreen ink.

I've added this to my favorites -- I don't know quite what I'll do with it besides admire your fabulous creation! The colors, the poppies, the explosion!!-- just awesome! Your friend will love it for sure!!!
Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
