This card uses “Perfectly Polished” and “The Best Things in Life” stamp sets. When I first saw the “Perfectly Polished” stamp set, I loved the candle image. It has a lovely oriental flare to it, along with a modern elegance.
I stamped the candle image onto a linen cream cardstock that I picked up at Archivers. I has a soft linen texture to it that compliments this image beautifully, but itÂ’s terrible for coloring with Copic markers. When I color on cardtsocks that lend themselves to a lot of bleeding, I use a blowing technique to dry the ink before it can bleed too much. Just blow on your ink that you just applied so that it dries faster.
I colored the candles using YR61, YR02, and R32. The flame was colored with Y21 and Y11. I used YG91, YG00, YG02, and UG95 to color the plate and flower stem. For the flowers I used R32, R35, and R37. The shading and shadows were colored with E50 and E53.
I trimmed the linen cardstock, distressed the edges and then adhered it to another piece of linen cardstock. I used my sewing machine to add a stitched border around the top linen cardstock, and then mounted it with dimensionals to my Kiwi Kiss cardfront. The sentiment was stamped with black ink and I added two pearls to accent it.
