On this card I wanted to showcase the sateen flowers with their gorgeous shimmer! I decided to do that by embossing the winter foliage images in clear and chocolate embossing powders. I think that it adds just the right amount of sheen to the images and compliment the flowers nicely.
A fabulous thing to note about the sateen flowers is that when you color them with Copic markers, (the flowers come in white or cream) the shimmer still shows through! No matter what color you need for a shimmering flower, just color a sateen flower and youÂ’re set.
I cut out the olive and dark brown cardstock in the shape of labels and them mounted them onto the cream linen cardstock with dimensionals before securing the pine cones and poinsettia with glue-dots. I finished off the card with a self-adhesive rhinestone (to be released from Gina K. Designs) and stamping the sentiment.
Materials that I used:
Cardstock: Cream Linen (Archivers), Dark Chocolate (PTI), Kiwi Kiss (SU)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (From Gina K. Designs), VersaMark ink (From Gina K. Designs)
Stamps: “Winter Foliage” (Gina K. Designs)
Accessories: Sateen Flowers (Gina K. Designs), Copic Marker (Gina K. Designs), Rhinestone (Gina K. Designs), Clear Embossing Powder (SU), Chocolate Scented Embossing Powder (n/a)
