This is a fun and simple 'moving card'. (This is the first time I have uploaded anything to this site... I am not sure what to expect... forgive me if I've done this wrong. I will try to fix it if I realize any errors.)

well... first of all, forgive my 'newness' to this site.... I didn't know what to do to upload my pictures.... nor did I know how to fill out the fields while doing it. Now I realize I needed more detail.
A moving card is one that has moving parts... for example: like a kid's pop-up book. This particular card 'moves' when the recipient opens it... the butterfly in the inside of the card is attached to a rubber string, and you 'wind' it up before closing the card... when the person opens the card.... the butterfly spins. It's really a fun card.... gets a lot of comments from the people I have sent them to.
Now... I best get to work learning my way around here!! Lots to see and learn!!

Oh wow! I really like this! I love the idea of the butterfly spinning when you open the card. Can you please share the directions or a template? This is so cool! My email is [email protected] or unless you want to post it on here cuz I'm sure you'll get a lot more requests. TFS!

WOW... I am blown away by the response to my posting this card. I am glad you all like it... I will try to make my directions 'easy to understand', and please believe me... it sounds a lot harder than it is.
Here goes:
First you must have two butterflies colored and cut out. (I used a Hero Arts stamp and Radiant Pearls for mine.) These guys get taped together, back to back, on the elastic string.
Then you fold two half sheets of c/s (like you would for an 'invitation' sized card). One will be for the "card", and the other becomes the "inside piece" that holds the butterflies.
Stamp the outside front and all of the inside of "the card". Stamp both outsides of the "inside piece". This "inside piece" gets a half circle cut out on the fold end.
Maybe you can tell by the other two pictures... that the two open ends get folded about 1/2 inch back so that you can tape them to the center of the card. However, before this is done, you must tape the *elastic string* (*see note below) to the inside center of the fold (center the butterflies in the half circle cut out and try to keep the elastic a tad bit tight while putting it in place). I use that heavy duty REALLY sticky double sided tape that S/U calls "Sticky Strip" for this part, and regular double sided tape for the ends in the middle of the card.
I do hope this makes sense!! I feel confident that if you try making this card, it will prove to be a lot easier than it sounds! Once you make and send one... you will make several.... they are FUN!!
Enjoy,
Joan
* I used clear .5mm 'elastic line' bought at my local craft store, found in the beading section. I don't think the brand name is important, but in case you have a hard time finding it, like I did, it's "Better Beads".
I was thrilled to see someone "CASEd" this card!!
