DH and I just bought a house and there was a little nook off the family room that would be perfect for my new craft area. (O.k. so it's not a nook, it's 11x
So we knocked down a closet, ripped up carpet, installed cabinetry, painted both cabinetry & walls, installed floors etc. and this is the finished product. Well, almost, my mom is making curtains for the window. I love it! It was hard work, but sooo worth it!
I have tables that fold up and go on the side of the cabinetry for when I want to work. For more info: http://mystampingworld.blogspot.com/...aking-day

I agree, Wow! Jealousy has a new face ... and it looks an awful lot like this picture!

Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I love it!
Lisa, I have 2 tables that when I want to work I can pull them out. When I'm not working on a project they can just be folded and stored away. I'm not one for clutter and so being able to store them out of the way works well for me.

My DH helped me set up a station similar to, but not as big as yours. One thing we share in common is that it is just off the family room. I think this is an essential element to a successful crafts space when you are married and/or have kids. It has to be close to where everybody congregates or else you feel guilty for getting in your craft time. Having it next to the family space makes it feel like you are together, even though they are doing something different (like watching their favorite ball team on tv). I think you'll love this space for a long time. Enjoy!
