I used the floor wax because I wanted something "thicker" than water. The colors did not dilute as much as when I use water. Also, I dried the first coat of floor wax with the heat tool, then came back with the crayon and scribbled in a little more in areas I wanted darker. Allowed it to all air dry and then sprayed with matte clear sealer.

You did such an awesome job on both sets of coasters--this turned out beautifully. Thanks for sharing your technizue, also as I will definitely be doing these for Christmas gifts!!
