Iris (Pam Hooten) is this week's featured stamper. I gazed upon her lovely gallery filled with gorgeous cards, with details upon more striking details. I thought I found a simpler one for me to try my hand at when I was drawn to this one (like a bee to honey). Bees Knees sneak peek!!! by iris at Splitcoaststampers
Iris makes it look so easy!! I spent several hours and here are the two cards I have to show for it. I actually cut enough bees to make 4 cards, next sketch challenge with a square you could see the other bees...
I like the background paper and how it was cut to create an uneven edge. It brought to mind my Creative Memories hexagon punch & I thought I can make my own background. Well the first attempt (laziness) I used the larger punch (1"). I could not get the fun edge so I tiled the entire back ground instead. So card #2 I used the smaller punch (3/4"), but still couldn't duplicate the edge, so I did half the BG and called it a night.
I was inspired by the colors, the honeycomb BG paper and the bee images. I changed to a punched BG, used Cricut to die cut my bees and made a 4 1/4" 5 1/2" card instead of square. Probably should have tried a square...
