The main inspiration for this card is the recipient, a good friend of mine who is a wonderful seamstress AND collects roosters. Another inspiration was this great shadow box card using the tag punch by jwjazz: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers I had a lot of fun incorporating as many sewing oriented ideas as I could. A big thanks to JulieHRR for the Faux Stitching technique, the closest I will come to sewing. It's hard to tell, but I used the Faux Linen technique for the rooster layer. The Paisley works well for the fabric look, and the argyle Faux Suede top layer (made with liquid applique) also includes French Script but it's very faint. I'll let the LA dry longer next time, because the classic Artichoke ink kept rubbing off. :( The buttons were sponged with craft Elegant Eggplant, and the brads were sponged with the yellow ochre chalk ink.

There are so many fabulous, well thought out details and wonderful techniques in this card. The colors are so deep and rich, love the shadow box, the Print Pattern on the faux suede...on and on and on...geez! Your friend will flip over it! Thanks for another gorgeous, inspiring creation!

WOW!! I can't sew either, which makes this card even more impressive! I love all the patterns and colors together, and the buttons & brads & gingham. So much interest here! And thanks for the tip on sponging embellishments - now I can use those not-so-pretty ones I've hung onto! Linda

Faux sew, huh? Linda, do not tell me how you did this! I want to revel in the magic of what you've created here! Besides, I DO sew, so I can sew for REAL if I want to! The whole effect is just beautiful and elegant, as your work always is! TFS! :-D Hugggs!
