This is my card for this week's Teapot Tuesday challenge. Our cards are going to Eula Cousins, birthday cards for her 110th birthday!
Our challenge also included sending Eula a letter sharing with her, our own favorite birthday memories.
My birthday card made specially for Eula was inspired by two favorite birthdays of mine.
This is my story!
1. The first was, when I was a young teenager, one of my best friends' father owned a sporting goods store and because of that, I got a very special gift! I had a group of girlfriends that all went skiing together and one year for my birthday, my girlfriends threw me a slumber birthday party and surprised me with a brand new pair of skiis! And then later on in the year, we all went skiing together to celebrate my new skiis! As a teen-ager, that was a pretty exciting gift and so much fun! That is why my card is a winter scene with the pine trees in the background.....
2. The reason I used this specific stamp set, Wild Wild West by SU is because I got it for my birthday a couple of years ago. Shirley (wannabecre8tive) and Pat (Blooms in a Box) organized a birthday surprise for me along with a wonderful group of SCS stampers. They all banned together and purchased this stamp set for me on e-bay. I longed and longed to own this retired stamp set and it is in great demand. What a surprise to receive this surprise via my friend Traci, in a huge box along with a hand made card from each stamper that helped to make my birthday so special. Click on my Women of the Wild Wild West blog to see who all participated in making my birthday so special! I call them the Wild Wild West Dream Team! I have never been so excited! When I left the restaurant that was chosen to reveal my special present, I had so much excitement in my head, I just drove around in circles in the parking lot until I realized I needed to concentrate really hard to get out on to the road! Snort!
Those are my two favorite birthday memories!

Cindy, a wonderful birthday story and a gorgeous card with Da Man!! Love your pearly snowflakes and that lovely present!! Awesome job!!
------------------------------ Phyllis Young at heart, slightly older in other parts. We really never grow up, we just learn how to act in public!! What if you woke up today with only what you had thanked God for yesterday??
Cindy the card is beautiful. I love him in the winter scene and so will Eula. Your stories are warm and fuzzy. It's nice to have such terrific friends as in both stories.
