I needed a birthday card for a copper loving friend, so I used the Faux Patina technique from the TLC370 Challenge, but with copper embossing powder instead of gold.
It's been a long time since I've used manila file folder paper for cardstock, so that's what I used for both the faux patina layer and the pinecone image. According to a long ago stamping magazine article, manila file folders have a special coating that allows inks to blend easily. I like its nice golden color too.
The branch image is stamped with Handsome Hunter, then the center is sponged with Barely Banana. The tiny openings in the pine needles are colored in with the Sage Shadow marker. After the pinecones were embossed with copper EP and sprinkled with copper glitter (while the EP was still hot), the edges were sponged with Marina Mist and Taken With Teal, then stamped with the splatter image using Sage Shadow.
I used the Versamarker to add a border of copper EP on both the faux patina and pinecone image layers. The large brad is heat embossed with copper EP and sprinkled with copper glitter. The pinecones layer is on dimensionals.
This card measures 5 x 6 1/4 inches.
