My mom had surgery late yesterday. I wanted to give her something special to cheer her up. She has helped me through a rough year that ended in a very invasive spinal fusion surgery for me last month. I am home on medical leave and took my time working on this piece, my first actual mixed media non-traditional art piece. I enjoyed filling it with comforting messages including 3 lovely bible verses, 2 very common and one more unique. I mod modged many layers, covered up some mistakes, added more gears, more color, more stickle, more, more, more... in the back is a leaf in a glittery gold tag and on the back of it I left a secret message for her to get well! I hope this is the first of many unique creations and thoroughly enjoyed working on it. My mom cried, happy tears, granted she was a little out of it, but i showed her each page. What I like best is this is FILLED with washi tape for her to use in her own crafts.

Wow, this is an awesome project, and one that is so special. I can't believe this is your first non traditional mixed media project. You rocked this out!

Totally awesome. What a fabulous use of mixed media! I love the final finish and all the embellishments are perfect. Your Mom will certainly appreciate this. It's incredible. Best wishes to both that you both are on the road to recovery.

Wow! This is an amazing eclectic combination of metallic items. I love it all.....the background, the gears, the arrow, the wings and the partial clock faces. I love the burnished look! I hope your mom will be recovering from her surgery quickly and I hope you will be on your feet soon too.
