Liz contnues as our hostess over at CCEE Stampers for the month of June. Today our challenge is roses, since the flower for the month of June is roses. Liz writes that there are so many varieties and they come in so many pretty colors and shades, and she asks us to make a card or project that makes use of a rose or a bouquet of roses.
Well, I went a bit offbeat with mine!! I love Roses in Winter and often use it for rose challenges, but this week I took a break. Originally I was only going to use the DP which I used as a background for this card (I'm sure they're roses!!), but in the end I also added a rose stuck into the bird's beak.
TH Bird Crazy stamped on watercolour paper, coloured with Inktense pencils and cut out. The extra popped-up wing was stamped on the same deep pink paper I used for a matting layer. Both the base layer and the rose DP are Sizzix Little Sizzles. I stamped over most of the DP with Aida in Stormy Sky, and then stitched it to the base. I fancied up the base with a gold pen all round the edge and gold dots.
Computer-generated sentiment (font is KB Reindeer Games) cut using SU word bubbles die, and popped up on foam. I edged it with a pen and added a few dots of Liquid Pearls. The little rose the bird is holding was snagged from a Penny Black stamp of a dog holding a single rose. The bird's beak has Glossy Accents.

Oh, I have this set and love these birds. But I have to say, Sabrina, that this is one really cute one that is feminine too! Love the floral background and that little rose in her mouth! How sweet! Hugs!

What a SWEET and funny, rosy card! LIKE how your crazy bird is holding a rose and how nicely he blends right in with the roses. I have the bird set. They're all cute and they have such fun expressions, too.
