This is the inside of my card for this week's Tickle a Teapotter - the challenge can be found HERE.
When I was on a mod shift last week I came across this card by Tyra, and thought I'd like to try the fold. I suspect it's the way Robin achieved the hinged effect in her amazing gatefold cards for the TLC last week. Because of the TPT challenge, I needed these colours and had limited amounts of the blue, so that constrained my card size.
Essentially, the height is whatever you want, and for the width, you score halfway along as you normally would, and then you also score halfway along what would be the card front and fold that back. Then you attach a slightly smaller panel to the folded-back part of the card front. I've taken this photo at an angle so you can see - I hope.
I added both the Dizzy Border and the negative space from it to fill in the "hinge" part of the fold. For the insde, I used a sentiment from Verve which ties in with the challenge, and added a couple of layered flowers and some foliage.

Ha! That is how I did my card! I did not see Tyra's card but I will look after this. That was really fun too, I did a little instructions on a blog post yesterday because of seeing the interest.
I love your card and the fun bright colors like your fun tea pot. I have never seen that toy or the Polly Pocket but I used to buy similar things for my kids when they were little. Kids love little figures to put into things like buses and houses!! My mom worked for Mattel when I was young and brought home Barbie dolls...I was a tomboy so I think she was trying to change that since she loved being so fashionable, heehee!
I love your window and the little girl with her cat looking out, love the border punch and pretty paper on the inside hinge part too! Genius!

Absolutely love the inside of your card too. I use to have fisher price little people and that darling teapot reminded me of those great toys. I use to have a farm with animals and my sisters both had a school and a carnival ride both with people. We would line them all up and just have a blast playing with them. Thanks for the memories.
