Thank you Joan for revisiting this popular and interesting technique. I think we all love to do this. But me, I did it backward...after my forward attempt bombed! You'll have to let me know how I did.
Here's what happened. This was another chance for me to play with the Brushos. So I embossed the Kid's Quote sentiment in Sea Foam white...so far so good. Then I spritzed with water, sprinkled with the Prussian Blue and waited for the magic to happen. Well, the magic did happen with the Brushos, but the quote disappeared into the background...not even wiping over the embossing made much of a difference. AND so, I turned the watercolor paper 180 degrees..stamped over the beautiful background, embossing with Sea Foam white. You can catch a hint of it upside down at the edge of the eraser.
Can't help but grin with Brittany McMahon, age 8. People are supposed to make mistakes. That's why we have
And how about that eraser??? Until the 1770's errant marks were 'offed' by bread that have been de-crusted, moistened and balled up! I am not making this up...there is a web page 10 Things You Probably Did Not Know About Eraser Technology. I am not sure what my eraser is called, don't think you can buy them anymore, but I remember it felt good to hold in your hand...and goodness me, I sure know about using one.
Thanks so much for your comments. What is your favorite style of eraser...and don't say sourdough!

Well, how fun and cool is this! When I glanced at your card, I was sure you had used a beet (that red thing/eraser). HAHA Your sentiment and eraser match perfectly and I like your Brushos. Mine came in the mail today and I couldn't wait to use them. My fave eraser is my Staedtler Mars Plastic
eraser I use for erasing off my stamps before I use them.

Well, thank you so much, my friend, for the lovely comment on my card....but frankly I just don't see you as the speechless type.....hahaha!!
I think your background came out beautifully, and I'm going to try it before the day is over. I have seamfoam white embossing powder....I thought it would be a cream colour, which is what I was looking for at the time, but I find it's kind of lumpy.....I never use it.
I can't wait to try the resist technique with brusos though.
um.....cute quote btw!!!

Oh, I love mistakes - they make me get creative trying to fix them, because I refuse to give up (well, most of the time). When I first looked at this I thought you had unearthed a real eraser that I haven't seen for years! It's so perfect with the sentiment, and I love your "repair" on that beautiful background. My favorite eraser is a white Staedtler Mars plastic eraser, introduced to me by a librarian friend.

I like Brittany's thinking. You had some trials, but the end result is great and yes, I do remember those erasers! The only people who don't make mistakes are the people who don't do anything.

I saw this and just smiled! Yep, had one of those and wondered WHERE on earth you found that one! Fantastic background, Susan and great job fixing the sentiment! Your designs captivate all of us! I could not name a favorites since I use four of them regularly . The one I use the most is Prisma kneaded eraser. Can't color without it.

Didn't work out so well for you today, huh? Since you're not the kind I see as being quick to toss something that didn't quite work, I'm glad you turned your paper and started over. I think this is so you and your narrative is a hoot. My favorite eraser: none. The kind of mistakes I make can't be eraser with anything. Ever. Never. No way. I caved and just bought a new one last week, as a matter of fact from dick blick. I can't tell you the name other than it's grey, sticky and made for water coloring. Already tried it on yesterday's boo boo and no luck. PS. Did I mention how strongly I believe God uses us to tell others what He himself want them to hear! Yup, that's what happened the other day.
